You silly motherf*ckers. Learn how to take care of your consoles. Saying that it's "fragile" when you're the one who knocked your console over is bullsh*t. Sure the RROD does happen randomly sometimes but if you're f*cking up your disks by moving your Xbox while it's on then its your own fault.

Looked up some ways to fix scratched disks, only method i found was covering the scratches with toothpaste and washing it off. Has anyone tryed to fix a scratched disk and had success?

@G MONEY: Don't be such a dick, I was so used to my playstation 2 being like a tank It took me by suprise when I tilted my console at a slight angle (not "knocked over") and it scratched the disk. I do know how to look after my console.

What are they doing to live. Me and everyone else on my list got knocked offline tonight about three times. It was sudden and didn't seem to have a purpose. Anybody know or have any ideas why this may be happening?

@G MONEY $$$:I used to have a Ps2, you can flip that thing upside down and drop it off the cabinet if you want to and it will barely skip, I got used to not having to worry about the discs. The 360 is so sensitive. They need to make a version with padding and make things more secure inside so I can flip it vertical or horizontal while I play...

Take it to get buffered, seriously.

My brother is an idiot and knocked over the 360 while someone was playing Two Worlds, massive gash across the thing. Took it into the videoshop to get buffered, got it back and it works fine.

No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

Okay... this is really pissing me off. Is anyone else having trouble with Xbox Live right now?

I keep getting signed out at random times and booted from live. They really need to get their stuff together... I would hate to see this crap happening next week when I'm trying to play some online GTA.

Ok...I got a networking question for all you 360 fans who happen to be networking savvy:

I have a 360s, two computers, and a hub. I want to make all of it work together simultaneously through the hub because I dont want to go out and spend 40 dollars buying a router and because I already have 3 or 4 extra hubs thanks to the extras givent to me by the computer guy at work a while ago. Now I know hubs are the simplest of the router, switch, and hub trio and that it does not assign an IP to the outgoing lines, but is it possible to force and IP address in manual settings and run rather then doing the auto connect and letting it detect the assigned IP when using a hub? Or is there a way I can make it work with a hub in general or am I just stuck swapping internet connection between devices or buying a router?

For f*ck's sake, don't treat your 360 like your old PS2. The PS2 is a f*cking tank. Yeah, I know, the TV fell over mine and it is working til now(funny fact: The disc that was in it isn't scratched). If you take care of your console, it won't get RROD nor scratch your games.

If you take care of your console, it won't get RROD...

Not neccesarily, I treated mine like a baby, and It still RROD.

I just sent it back to get fixed and then sold the thing.

I'll buy another one when I can afford it, especially now with all the Platinum hits.

As far as I know, RRoD is caused due to overheating on the motherboard, wich causes some steel to become liquid and that makes some parts loose. As long as you treat it very very right, you won't get it at all.

Then tell me why It overheated when it had 3 feet of space on all sides, and had a fan constantly circulating the air in the room.

I'm thinking it was a problem with some kind of sensor that detects how much heat is present.

I treated the thing great.

That would have to be a lot of heat I would think.

Actually, the RRoD is caused by rapidly heating up and then cooling down a chip on the motherboard. Heating up, cooling down, heating up, cooling down, and oh, the cheap little chip breaks.

But, yeah, enough heat to melt metal but the plastic staying perfectly fine, I really buy that.

When I got the problem, I cycled the power on everything, then it worked.

It makes the solder melt, which is holding things together. Solder is very easily melted. I'm pretty sure that is what the problem is.

Some reduce the chances of the RRoD, some increase the chance of the RRoD. Most now a days work properly, but you might up getting a dodgy model or something.

Anyone else noticed that Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory has hit the Xbox Originals service? Once I get me some points (and extra bandwith) I'll be downloading 5.4gb's of stealth action.

Alright, I had been wondering, i play it in a cool area anyways, does it make any difference if I bought an elite recently (September), or are they still making them wrong?

I have a question that's kind of related. I bought an Xbox Live Arcade bundle in December and I was wondering if there's a way to check if it's got the Falcon chipset.

I read something about a heatsink...also solder takes a considerable amount of heat too depending on the type.

@EL BENSON: I heard that the elite is way better and hasn't had many problems.

Great, I bought my 360 after they started manufacturing 175w consoles, and mine isn't the bloody Falcon. I can bet myself all the money in the world that my box is gonna RROD now that I know this. cryani.gif

Lol everybody has a different story.

From What I heard (tounge.gif) it's due to the 360 rapidly heating up and cooling down, which causes the weakly soldered joints to continually bend, and over a long course of time, it simply breaks, bang, No more 360.

Just played the Condemmed 2: Blooshot demo, amazing. I took every corner like I would in real life, looking around and checking there was nothing there and sh*tting myself at the same time. First game that's actaully scared me In a long time. If you haven't already, download this.

I don't have a falcon either. Although it does run a little hot...(I could feel the heat whil I was checking the numbers), it seems to be ok.

Okay, so the output is 203w but it's manufactured on 2007/09/04 and the lot number is 0735. So, I'm assuming I still have a sh*tty ol' one eh?

Edit: Well f*ck me in a river and shoot me, I have a LAUNCH mobo...f*ck.
