Ok, since I don't play my PS2 anymore, thats two not three >_>

I am wanting to trade it in, and some games and save up some money to get a 360 and Dead Rising

 

What is the cheapest type of 360, in $AUD

and I think i'd get a used 360 so it would be even cheaper,

 

So... What is the cheapest price you can get a 360?

The cheapest you can get a 360 in $AUD is $400 I think. That's the Arcade, which has no HDD (Memory Unit instead), and as far as I know, no component cables.

 

Be careful if you go for a used 360, no doubt someone is going to try and sell you a RRoD'ed 360.

Hey guys.

Can anyone explain to me how the new 3 year extended warranty works?

I found the check from my 360 yesterday and it said I bought it on 8/10/2006. So its a year and 6 months old. So that means that my one year original warranty ran out. Do I have to phone XBOX support up and ask them for the 3 year warranty or what?

The whole warranty thing is basically in case my 360 dies on me just before GTAIV release.

It's free for the your 360 to be replaced IF and ONLY IF you get the RRoD.

We don't have pennys in Australia, The lowest form of currency is 5 cents here.

Got my 360 back today. Plugged it in, 3 red lights. Turned it off, plugged the power cord in ALL THE WAY, and it works just fine

It's been about...near enough 3 weeks when I told MS about my Xbox getting RROD and they told me they'd send off a box and everything, yet near enough 3 weeks later its not even here yet! If its not here by Saturday then I'm going to either ring up/email them and complain about my coffin not getting here yet. And all so close to IV. No doubts I'll have my game arrive at my door and no Xbox to play on.

MS don't send you the box you have to do that bit yourself, the only thing MS are responsible for is sending you the labels and arranging pick up, it took me about 3/4 weeks to get my 360 picked up but it only took 2 weeks to come back

Seems people are having some negativity with MS tech support, when my DVD drive broke (my fault ) it was literally a matter of a 5 minute phone call, they sent me a label instantly, I took everything off the 360, chucked it in the box, called UPS (this was a Wednesday), they came and picked it up on Friday, it was back to me within two weeks, good as new...well, it would be, it was a new Xbox.

 

I guess I got lucky.

Talked on the phone for not too long, they said they'd send a box. The box arrived from UPS three days later, I put it in the bag, foamed it up, labeled and taped it up, and sent it out.

Gonna be getting it back soon, hopefully.

Has anyone played that Viking: Battle for Asgard yet?. I've just completed the game and it was epic, the big fort takeovers you do are amazing especially when you have 3 dragons flying around and the millions of enemies and allies right side by side.

 

Can get a bit repetitive at times but leave it for a few hours and the repetitiveness goes and i'm playing for hours upon end again. Gamespot gave the game a 5 but it miles better than that, i would well give it a minimum of 8.

I rented Bully: Scholarship Edition last night, been playing it a bit. I was kind of wary, due to all the freezing problems people had talked about, but I haven't had a single problem with it, yet. I'm a little past Christmas right now, I just beat Johnny in that long ass bike race.

 

 

I guess I'll have to rent Viking, if it is as good as you say it is, Seddo.

Hmmm, I just got a prompt to update the system software. This is what Major Nelson had to say.

 

 

A few minutes ago, the team released a system update for the Xbox 360 over Xbox LIVE. Sometime over the next few hours when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll recieve a prompt to accept this mandatory update. This update contains code to ‘prepare for future growth of the service.’ There are no other changes or enhancements in this update…in other words no new features. The next obvious question you’ll have is about the Spring update. At this point we have nothing to announce, and the moment there is information to share I will do so.

 

Any ideas on what this future growth might be?

 

Just noticed that the Condemned 2 Demo has hit the Australian marketplace, not sure about American's though.

 

EDIT: And finally, more maintenance on April 21st (I'm guessing to prepare for the massive increase of numbers when IV comes out)

My VGA cable certainly doesn't have a switch, but yes indeed the composite/component cable has the switch.

Apparently the 360 sales have doubled in Europe recently.

 

 

The momentum behind Xbox 360 continues to grow, as Microsoft today announced that European sales have more than doubled in the wake of recent adjustments of the estimated retail price (ERP), solidifying its leadership position as the number one next-generation console in Europe and significantly broadening the console’s audience.

 

So i'm guessing (although not sure) the other continents have sold well. After the Christmas period with Xbox Live f*cking up, i reckon the same could happen again with GTA 4's release, Like you've just said there probably boosting all the server support and other technical sh*t for the big day.

Good news, my apartment is getting cable and internet tomorrow. Comcast decided to be nice for once and gave us the quick service and said they would install less then 24 hours after we called and asked for it. Anyways, they have the the internet speed advertised as 6mb/s and I started thinking, with a computer and the 360 running at the same time, would I get any lag? Also, say we were to run two 360s on XBL at the same time, would there be much lag?

 

I don't know how much of the incoming connection my 360 will eat up, so any information would be greatly appreciated.

I only have a 1meg connection () and i have my 360, my PC, my Sisters PC and my Sisters laptop on all at the same time and i get no lag what so ever even when i host games. Also sometimes my dad has the laptop on aswell and still no lag.

Good. I am glad i got this rather then some douche throwing numbers out and screaming "use google next time".

 

I plan on running two PCs and two 360s on this one internet line. Sounds like I am gonna be in good shape. If I'm not, Seddo, I am gonna hunt you down and pull your kidneys out your mouth. No seriously, I have a .45, that quicker and a lot less messier.
