I swear to god I better not get the RRoD on my 360 before GTAIV comes out else I am going to scream bloody murder, and rip my nipples off.

that is all. bored.gif

I hear you. I'm trying to cut down the time I spend on the 360 per day. Usually I did 2 hours a day, now it's cut down to 30 minutes. I guess it's because I've been occupied with Vice City on the PC lately.

I'm the same... past week I've not even turned it on. Apart from to play a bit of Bully and Bad Company Beta...

If mine goes before release. I know I will buy a new console. Probably just an Arcade (slap the HDD on it, bish bash bosh). Waited long enough, not going to wait anymore because MS insist on using cheap and untested components.

Ditto as well.

I remember it was almost exactly a year after I got my 360 that I got the RRoD, funny thing was it happened right after I mentioned how I was the only person that didn't have to send in their Xbox that I know IRL.

Well the "new" 360 (which in fact was older than mine) that I received has the new GPU heatsink on it, so I hope that did something. But I won't count on it lasting more than a year either.

Yeah I read somewhere the newer models had less of a chance to RROD. That would be great news for me considering mine is only a month old. Still, I'm not even touching it ph34r.gif .

Hmm. It's been nearly two weeks since I called Microsoft and they said they'd send a box out. If there's no box by Friday, I'm going to give them a call...Monday? I'm assuming they don't take calls on weekends.

They've got workers in India 24/7.

Same thing happened to me, i've always thought my xbox was my trusty friend til out of the blue it froze and rrod'd. If it doesn't come back before the release i might find myself buying a PS3 cause i kind of want one anyways. confused.gif

Nope. Drives are only warrantied for the first year. Same thing happened to me on my launch box.

Say I were to fix it myself (like you suggested in the private forum). Would I still be able to send it in, if I am unable to resolve the issue?

I don't think you would be able to since that would void the warranty.

But what if my warranty is already up?

Will I still be able to send it to them, and have them repair it for a fee?

I would think so, I don't see why they wouldn't fix it for you. I'll check to see if that's true or not.

This is the closest thing to what I think is an answer.

Attempting to defeat or circumvent the Xbox Product security or anti-piracy protection system may cause your Xbox Product to stop working permanently. It will also void your Limited Warranty, and may make your Xbox Product ineligible for authorized repair, even for a fee.

But I'm not sure if it's what I'm talking about.

Does anyone know if there's any chance of getting the old xbox, or if retailers just carry the Falcon now?

Don't look at me that way. orly.gifmoto_whistle.gif

I really doubt you'd get an old xbox now because the old ones are probably sold already.

When Rock Band was released in the US, it cost $169, and came with the game, guitar, microphone and drums. Not a bad deal. But in Europe, on May 23? Good heavens. The game won't come in a single bundle. Instead, there's two products available at lauch. One is called the "Instrument Edition", which costs £130/€170. It comes with a guitar, drums, and mic. That's it. No game. No, if you want the game as well, it'll cost you another £50/€70. That brings the cost of the game and three instruments to £180/€240. Or, USD$378. Three hundred and seventy-eight dollars. I know, things are always more expensive in Europe, but...damn. Whether it's MTV or EA behind this price, you can take that price, and you can stick it up your arse.

What the hell is up with that? Played an imported version on the PS3 a while ago and loved it, but they expect us to pay £180 for it when its only £85ish in America? Looks like i'll be importing it instead (oh noes ps3! ph34r.gif)

Just preordered GTAIV and bought Burnout: Revenge.

I'm stoked.

Not Paradise? Come on, gotta get that unless you have it already.

Burnout revenge is better than Paradise IMO. Paradise really took Burnout in thee wrong direction.

I have both, just to note.

I'm just curious, is there a way to turn off your 360 via the dashboard? I was thinking about this when I discovered you can turn on the 360 upon activating the wireless controller

yeah, just hold the center button on the controller until a menu pops up. From there, you can either turn the controller off, or the console, Which also turns off the controller.

Not to mention you don't have to be in the Dashboard, you can do that whilst playing a game, watching a movie...etc.

The-end: I think it was a step forward for Burnout, trying new things, instead of doing laps (Ironically, what you did in the older Burnout games)

Don't quote me on this, but I have about the same monitor (same res, Samsung) and had my Xbox hooked up the same way using the VGA adapter and I think it just runs at, what, 480p? Maaaaybe 720. It looked really nice though either way smile.gif.

VGA is a little different from HD. Instead 480, 720, etc., you'll get the option to choose from 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024 and some other one which I think is for widescreen monitors. I was using the VGA cable hooked up to my 17" iiyama monitor when I first bought my 360 and it still looked amazing.

Well, Burnout Paradise was 59.99, whereas a used copy of Burnout Revenge was only 9.99.

And based on from what I've been hearing of the 2 games in comparison, I'm pretty sure Revenge was the obvious choice. tounge.gif

I had to pay more too, everything here costs twice as much...

I don't know if any other companies make VGA cables, I bought the official xbox VGA cable.

Does anyone know how long the 'coffin' comes for your Xbox? I only put my order in the other day so I was just wondering. And then on average does anyone know how long until you get your xbox back? It said 2-6weeks. So I'd kinda like a more average time for it I guess being as IV's coming out so soon.

I've dealt with 2 coffins (one for my cousin, one for mine,) and generally they take about 5 days to arrive. They arrive via UPS and in my case they just drop the box off without even bothering to knock and run off. The coffin comes with prepaid shipping etc etc all you have to do is schedule a pickup (you might have to pay for that) or take it to a local UPS store (unless they used Fed Ex for one reason or another, dunno how that works.)

The amount of time it takes all depends on whether or not they decide to just send you a "new" Xbox (which the one I got was in fact older than mine, but as long as it works I don't care.)

If they're trying to repair your Xbox it will take longer.

Anyway, for my cousin it was about 2.5 weeks, for me it was about 3 weeks.
