I was thinking of getting a Xbox 360 bit i have always been a sony playstation fan and since most of my friends have had hardrive problems i certainly wont be getting one, PS3 all the way.

It's not even that expensive to buy. Only like $50 for a year, plus it comes with an extra month.

Uh, no it's not. Just because your friends all had hard drive errors doesn't mean you will. Alot of my friends had the RROD but mine is still running strong.

I still haven't bought Mass Effect. But now I wanna buy it because I wanna play a game with that "cyberpunk" feel. Something with cool futuristic cities in it. Like Deux Ex(which I just beat), or the original KOTOR. Does it have that kind of stuff?

I was a Sony fanboy until I realized that the only reason I loved the PS was because of Gran Turismo. And if GTA4 was coming out 6 months earlier on the PS3 then I would've bought it. Forza2 and Halo3 sealed the deal.

Dude, I don't just barge in here every day. Since common sense I don't own a 360. So I don't have much to talk about in this topic.

How is Rockband anyways? I heard it's pretty good for the most part, except that sometimes the equipment tends to break easily.

Some people have been getting faulty peripherals, but EA has a good replacement plan.

 

As for the game itself, it's fantastic. Where to begin...the controller. Best guitar controller out there. Once you've played with it, all the Guitar Hero controllers just feel like little toys. Sure it's not a full fledged guitar, but it looks and feels very realistic. Then there's the drums. Then singing and drums, that's like two free games just packed in. Drums are challenging, but fun once you start getting good it's really fun. You can also play bass if you want. And playing any of these online with friends is just super fun. And let's not forget, let's not forget the awesome downloadable content, that's usually updated every week or two. The game is granted new life because there are constantly new songs to download and play.

 

All in all, yeah it's pretty good. Hefty price, but if you plan on doing more than just playing guitar by yourself, go for it.

Rock Band is a fantastic game. The peripherals, however, are absolutely terrible.

I sent in my guitar controller a few weeks after I bought the game. The strum bar was double-strumming and was really loose.

I'm about to send in for a new kick pedal because mine snapped in half. I seriously don't know how they expect anyone to beat the expert career without breaking this.

My drum pads are very terrible as well. I've tried every MacGyver there is. I'll be sending in for a new set of drums very soon as well.

Works perfectly as a single player game. Think of it as Guitar Hero with a better controller, and without the ridiculously unrealistic difficulty and un-funny bullsh*t story stuff. Then, imagine having three seperate games added in as well. Drums, bass, and singing. And then throw in the awesome multiplayer (Jake/Laz can back me up on that one ) and it's just a great game online or off. It is really expensive though. I mean I got mines as a Christmas present...you might have to wait till your birthday, unless you have job or something.

I was thinking about getting Rock Band, but then I found out it still isn't out in the UK. What's the frigging deal? What exactly is so super special about the PAL port that warrants months and months between the release dates?

So, I've had Halo 3 in my possession for the past week or so and it hadn't been taking out of its plastic because Forza 2 also came in the mail with it (for all of those who are uninformed; Forza 2 > Halo 3).

 

ANYWAYS, I pop it in. Start campaign. Five minutes later I turn it off. This game f*cking blows. Hard. I never played Halo 2 so I feel as if I'm missing something. Obviously, I am because it's a trilogy. I never finished the last mission in Halo and I've only played half-way through the first mission of Halo 2. I mean, I could watch Star Wars III without having seen I or II and still enjoy it. This game blows.

 

So, this week I'm taking this sh*t to GameStop, EBGames or Hollywood Video's game shop place and hope they give me more than $9 for it so I'll get what I paid for it.

 

If anybody in the USA wants this game, contact me via PM. $25 is my asking price and it includes shipping. The game is BRAND-F*CKING-NEW. I didn't flip through the manuals or anything. Just looked at the fold-out poster to see the controls.

 

Back to Forza! I'll set up Live next week (since it's Spring Break) so I can get all the DLC plus the pack that's coming out. Excellent.
