I'm XBLess for the next week or so. I have also discovered I own 19 games. I am amazed. I think Xbox I had 8 and PS2 I had 6. So this generation is definitely better for me, game wise.

The reason why they've done the episodes is to act as a filler before Half Life 3. There will only be 3 episodes, the 3rd one's due out later this year.

The episodes are actually Half Life 3. Gabe Newell himself refers to them as that.

 

 

Probably a better name for it would have been Half Life 3: Episode One, but these three are what we're doing as our way of taking the next step forward, but Half-Life 2 was the name we used....

 

...The arc of the trio of episodes is also about the G-Man. He appears briefly in Episode One, and we'll get more info on him later. If you think of Half-Life 1 as the G-Man trying to turn you into something that was useful to him - the transformation of the player into hero. And then Half-Life 2 was about how he was using you. Half-Life 3 [a.k.a. Episodes One to Three] is about the relationship with the G-Man and what happens when he loses control of you, when you're not available to him as a tool and how he responds to that, and what are the consequences of that.

What do you need 800 points for, are you changing your Gamertag name again?.

 

I created a second account last year sometime and i got myself a free months of gold with it, but that ran out and you need to pay for the life subscription on the second account, stupid having to pay for two subscriptions for two Gamertags which is on the same console .

Just goto the recover my gamertag option, but you'll need your 360 to be online.

And Frontlines: Fuel of War is supposed to be amazing and the multiplayer demo does not do it justice and is a must buy.

I think I heard one on of the commercials that there's going to be 64 person multiplayer.

Nope, the last time i heard the game was supporting 60 people in one game, whether or not it's been reduced after the online demo i'm not to sure.

LOST and Lost Odyssey came through in the post, both good games. Lost Odyssey is going to take ages to complete, been playing it for almost 4 hours now and haven't even gotten to the first 'main place' (that being the Great Staff) and then i've still got the other 3 disks to play through.

 

LOST is good, but not amazing. It's pretty cool to run around in the areas you see in the show but its much more constricted than i originally thought and theres annoying long cave sequences where you're constantly making sure your torch stays alight otherwise 'the darkness monsters' kills you. But yeah, its a good game but doesn't do the shower justice or anything.

When I read on what games are the hot topic as above here, I look them out in the magazines, etc. I think as a one console owner and with PC versions of xBox titles, it can certainly get confusing wondering if you can actually get a game for one.

 

I saw more recent previews that make the actual year (and a half) ahead rather interesting to be sure!

As far as I know it hasn't officially been confirmed yet, only SurferGirl or whoever it is has said so.

I don't recall the last 360 advert I saw on TV (in the Midwest, USA)... I did tape the over night news cover a story on gaming and the advances we see... of course, Wii got honorable mention because of their participatory controller!

 

Anywho, it neglected a lot of things we look forward to with only a mention of violent games and showing some war and FPS footage.

This was the past week BTW!

 

I want to point out after reading some coverage on the HD DVD dilemma for Microsoft... Why can't they integrate an HD disc player into a game delivery system as PS3 does? I assumed it would be possible even as an add on, however, I wasn't sure

Mainly because it would alienate the people who currently own a 360 and probably don't want to inveest in an add-on to play future games.

Got my Elite this morning. Bought RB6:Vegas for it a while back, in anticipation of getting the console and the second games release being so soon. Then I went out and bought Mass Effect and have been playing that for the past 4 hours.

Well of course. They wouldn't be able to charge you $100 for something that could have already been in it. Just like the wireless adapter....They could have built that in. Thats why I use a wire, I don't have enough money to spend on things like that. Also $50 controllers?!?

Am I just incredibly lucky or is anyone else still got their initial 360 still going strong? By that I mean I bought my 360 in November 06 and so far its still working with no problems bar the issue with the DVD drive which was replaced by MS. As I think I mentioned in this topic it does get as noisy as a jumbo taking off but only when the weather is hot. I am still dreading the possibility of the RROD's striking it down but I am really surprised given how wide-spread the failures of consoles are.

How much does it cost to have MS replace the DVD drive?

Mines making loud noises and scratching my discs (not to the point of being unusable, but noticeable marks are being made on my discs.) As well as the rare Disc Read Error.
