So I beat Modern Warfare 2 on veteran mode tonight. I have to say it wasn't really that hard (in the sense that there was no area that was extremely insane) with the exception of the last part of Loose Ends. Having to get down at that hill with mercenaries firing at you from behind and more mercenaries firing at you from the front along with being bombarded by mortars made for some serious rage. After about forty-some attempts, I finally caught a lucky break and made it.

I'll probably buy Modern Warfare tomorrow. You know, work my way backwards. I also need to finish up all the special ops missions in MW2.

CoD4 is harder then MW2 on veteran imo. Some bits on MW are really hard some are piss easy tbh. I've nearly finished MW on veteran for the second time.

I've heard MW2 is the easiest on veteran; I've heard WAW and some of the first ones are really difficult on veteran mainly due to infinite spawn.

I found Veteran on MW2 rather easily and got the achievement for completing the entire campaign on Veteran, which I have done with no other CODs. WAW was hard as sh*t though.

Dude f*ck WaW most of those levels on Vet are f*cking retarded. Apart from the respawn rate of people, you have that unlimited amount of grenades thrown at you all at once. So you've really got to think about where to go for cover/when to run for it. Especially on the missions where it involves nothing but close combat in trenches. Took me legit 30 tries to get to a second check point on one of those.

Yeah I've read a lot about people bitching about WaW because of the infinite respawns and the fact that if you stay in a position too long, all of a sudden you end up being surrounded by about a dozen grenades and you really have nowhere to run.

I just bought Call of Duty 4, so I might as well pop that in and give it a go.

WaW is a bitch to complete on vet. I've never completed on veteran because my WaW sort of broke lol but I did attempt it.

Well I almost finished the campaign in CoD 4 on regular and yeah, just going through that, some of those levels are going to be a real bitch on veteran. That one where you're waiting by the ferris wheel fending off enemies waiting for the chopper while Captain MacMillan snipes... yeah, that's going to be fun.

There is this mission in MW2 which I can't complete, I have finished all missions on Veteran except this one.

This one isn't easy, but I didn't find it prohibitively hard either.

Basically, you just want to take this one very slow and steady. At your starting point in the favela, you want to take out as many guys as possible while staying in cover (do not leave cover). As you progress through the first part of the favela, always be sure to check your corners and don't run into areas blindly, especially open areas. As well, be sure to check the rooftops as there are always guys up there who will pick you off quickly (especially on veteran).

After you get out of the first stage, it's going to be close quarters in the favela with a lot of guys hidden around corners, in windows and on rooftops. The best advice I can give is just to stay it very slow (you're not pressed for time regardless of what MacTavish says over the radio) and make your shots counts. As well, flashbangs and frag grenades work wonders (just be sure to cook your grenades).

Here's a few vids from YouTube:

Guys to be honest I have never played any Fallout Game, I have seen the videos but yet they haven't been mind changing. Yet I would like to hear your opinion.

Play Fallout 3, i guarantee you will not regret it! Its literally hours worth of gaming so you will never complain of short story or lack of things to do! And with the Karma system, its worth replaying at least 3 times!

The only gripe i have with Fallout 3 at the moment (Not that its the games fault i just thought id mention it) Is the DLC's are 800 Microsoft points, which is almost £10 in English currency, i can buy Fallout New Vegas used for that amount now lol so it seems kind of pointless when i could get a whole new game.

I still haven't finished COD4 on Vet. I think I got up to the Sniper mission, the part where you have to run away after just shooting the guy and I get my ass kicked the second I start trying to run.

I had trouble with that on regular, so I can imagine that's going to be damn near suicide on veteran. I saw a few videos on YouTube where if you stay in certain areas, you won't get hit and you can just let MacMillan do all the work.

The first mission on veteran on the boat was ridiculously easy. I'm just on the one where you're trying to find Al-Asad in the TV station, but that battle in the main room - goddamn.

Had the same problem with the TV room. Watched a couple videos. I worked my way around the long way rather than go straight ahead. So you turn right as you enter the door. Since there's a room around there if I'm not mistaken? So long since I've played.

That's where I gave up on that, after you rapel down and they just pile onto you. If I'm not mistaken, you have to do the sniping all over again.

Hmmm I don't think I ever had to replay the actual sniper shot again. It's a checkpoint right after you've repelled down...you know what tomorrow I'm going to have to put this baby in again and cry/shout at how hard it was.

Wait 'til you get to the last stand at the end of the level. It's the hardest bit in the main campaign on Veteran.

The part after sniping that guy is by far the hardest part on Veteran. I can't do anything but wish you luck on this one.

Just wait till you get to the ferris wheel part, that's where I gave up the game and came back to it in 2 weeks.

The part where you have to go disarm the missle right at the end of the game is hardest on veteran. You walk down this hallway and there are enemies on every side.

Which seat can I take?

Deus Ex: Human Revolution or

Driver: San Francisco or

NFS: Hot Pursuit?

Any other suggestions?

Yeah, but I'm searching for some games for before November. I got a bit of money saved up for November, but don't know what to get now.

Crysis 2

Bad Company 2

Test Drive Unlimited 2

Far Cry 2

I wouldn't recommend buying a NFS game seeing there is one coming out a couple of months.

If you're a little patient and it's your type of game Gears of War 3 comes out in just under a month from now.

Don't get me even more excited. biggrin.gif

I often think of MW2 as one of the easier games on my full gamerscore list, but thinking of some of the bits mentioned makes me question it.

Borderlands was probably the easiest for me - that or Halo Reach. A friend and I grabbed copies of Borderlands from Gamestop and got the original 1k in less than a week. At some point I'd like to grab the addons disc and finish it up, but that overkill of playing it sort of put me off for a while.
