Do any of you kind, loving people have a spare 48 hour gold card laying around that I could bum off of them?

Hopefully this isn't a dumb question, but still..

How can I put movies/films I've "acquired" on the HD on my xbox? They play fine from a USB memory stick, but I want to keep them on the xbox for future watching. I can't find a transfer/copy option sad.gif

I've been to the memory menu in settings but it seems I'm not allowed.

@Padmasana: I hate when I get messages in languages I don' understand saying something about ''48''.

I would help a 'friend' in need by giving a code, but not to some random guy I played with a game or two.

@GTA1: I had the same problem, although it was a disc. I don't think you can save movies on your HDD from your USB/Disc.

Store the movies on a computer or NAS on your LAN and then access them that way.

Side note:

I just picked up another slim for my bedroom and was excited to see that they have built in wifi now. Sweet.

Bought Modern Warfare 2 today; I'm definitely behind on my games, but in my defence, I just acquired the 360 about six months ago as a friend owed me some money and gave me his console to null and void is debt - it was a good deal for me.

Anyways, I'm just running through the campaign now - so far, so good. I'm running through on regular at the moment; I'll eventually run through on veteran.

When the new Xbox dashboard launches toward the end of 2011, it will feature consistent Kinect integration - including expanded voice control - a design consistent with other Windows devices, and deeper social networking features, Microsoft has confirmed.

"The focus is to bring more entertainment to Xbox Live," Xbox Live marketing manager Ryan Moore told NowGamer's Dave Cook at Gamescom. "2010 was a great year for Xbox in that we sold more consoles than we ever have. We're now at 55 million consoles sold, 10 million kinect units sold, so in 2011 focus is to give you the entertainment you want, when you want it, and with the ability to share it with your friends and family."

The new dashboard will include Microsoft's Bing search, to streamline the process of searching for content quickly.

'Beacons' enable players to set notifications that they want to play a certain multiplayer game, and can be posted on Facebook or Xbox Live letting your friends know you want them to join you in a game.

The much-touted Cloud storage feature applies to gamer profiles and saves - the whole account is saved to the cloud, meaning you can log in on a friend's console and retrieve your profile and saves easily.

Deeper Facebook integration via the Social tab enables players to unlock an achievement, then post about it on their wall.

Indie games and other new content should also be easier to find now, according to Microsoft.

Microsoft also confirmed that Kinect would be getting new IP, 'big' new partners announcing content and more core content coming too.

I remember "Over 55 Million Served" in regard to McDonalds I think?!? Oh so long ago. Well, Sony's move (pun intended) will help level the playing field.

I still think it's not reasonable to expect everyone to adopt the Kinect as they force a change down user's throats

As said in the MW3 topic, hit me up if you ever feel like playing some Spec-Ops, as I need to complete that part of the game aswell.

Question for the UK folk. If I pre-order a game really early on, then lots of other editions get announced, can I change version of the game? I've pre-ordered BF3 at Gamestation, and like a week or two later they announced a limited edition version, and I'm after that one instead, but not sure what happens when you pre-order games.

Think we discussed this before in here, but I doubt they'll turn down your money for the sake of changing your pre-order. They'll probably just take your old receipt off you and give you a new one (assuming they still do it that way tounge.gif ).

Ah sh*t, deja vu much? blush.gif I had a feeling I'd asked before, but wasn't 100% sure. Guess I'll have to go Gamestation tomorrow and find out what they say.

It annoys me how they always release multiple versions of a game, months after you can pre-order the original one. Think companies should announce all versions of said-game before they come up for pre-order.

Try to preorder it at least 3-4 weeks before the release date.

For sure. I always see you online playing MW2, so if I see you're playing it, I'll send you off an invite.

blush.gif I don't think I've touched another game for ages now. Currently racking up 621 hours of gameplay on that, and that's only from when I've had Live. bored.gif But yeah, am having abit of trouble on some of the spec ops, so would be good to have a helping hand.

I also need to complete it on Veteran. Currently on the Second Sun mission.

If you ever see me online playing MW2, just send me a message or an invite. If I'm playing the campaign, you can still send me an invite; I probably won't move to Spec Ops until I get to the next checkpoint (or finish the mission if I'm close).

I did some of the Spec Ops missions with Lithium last night. It was sweet for the Hidden one where you need to pick off the snipers in ghillie suits because Lith knew where they were all hidden, so it made it easy. We also did the one where one person is on the ground and another is manning a chopper; we got to the very end and then I got nailed by someone waiting in the barn - so pissed.

On the campaign, I just finished all the missions in Act I on veteran, so I'll be moving on to Act II now. It's going to be fun, because some of those missions were a bit of a pain on regular, so I can just imagine it'll be like suicide on veteran.

question for more xbox savvy folk than i:

my elite died awhile back and i bought a slim. got myself a transfer cable and everything went smoothly transfering my data n stuff. then a few months later i bought my son the arcade version of the slim. my question is this:

instead of paying for a hard drive for his arcade slim, can i just give him the transfer cable and my old elite hard drive to use or will i have to suck it up and buy a new hard drive for him?

Good playing with you tonight, Butters, although I forgot to warn you that I'm not a good shot, hence the reason you probably kept dying in Overwatch. I actually played that with Lithium tonight on veteran and I was about three meters away from the end when the clock ran out; I took a dead end and had to backtrack - I was not happy about that.

Next time we do Sniper Fi, we should do it on veteran - I actually got in on my first try (on veteran), so with two people, it should be a piece of cake.

[EDIT] Do you have a headset by chance? Easy to communicate on some missions (i.e. when to advance and such).

I avoided buying the 4GB model, used, because the older gen HDDs don't mate I was told, but I'd hope USB ones would, you can get your content onto USB easily

It was in the MW3 topic; cut me some slack, Scott. tounge.gif

We'll survive without you having a mic (that's why I invited you to the party), but it's definitely useful to have for spec ops, especially in missions where coordination is key. We need to do some of them on veteran - that's where the real fun is.

No, the transfer cable just tranfers data and erases it from the source. You can't use it as an extension lead. Also, because the transfer cable has erased all the games from your old elite HDD when you transfered them to your new slim your elite HDD will have nothing on it now.

If you're going to reply to someone, try to actually say something that helps them, or at least fits into the conversation.

Not been into town as of yet, but the website is stating that if any other editions come out of said-game, then you can change your order for whichever version you want...but that's when you pre-order online, but I see no reason for them not to do it in shop...if the special edition costs more, then obviously it would make sense since they'd be making more money.

@Icarus...sorry about the short message I sent you, I absolutely hate typing messages out on the 360 though. The only reason I kept putting it on Hardened was because I knew you were new to the game, so didn't think you'd want to go on Veteran straight away, but I gotta say, you f*cking helped me alot. icon14.gif Am definitely up for doing them all on veteran though. smile.gif

I'm currently after some headphones, but just got to sort some debts out first, then should be able to get some. I know it's sh*tty without them as I can't pre-warn you about enemies and whatnot.

I just felt bad in that one mission when I was the chopper gunner (the one in daylight) and I dazed off in my own little world for a second and I noticed I was firing towards you and the message came up about watching friendly fire. I was thinking, "Boy, he must think I'm a retard."

I don't mind doing them on veteran; I'm new to MW2, but not to FPS - I'm just not the best shot, per se. Lith and I have done about 10 of the spec ops missions in the last few days and we did them all on veteran; it's easy for him, though, because he has already done them. It helped us on Hidden because he knew where all the snipers in ghillie suits were hidden.

I'm not looking forward to some of the spec ops missions in Delta and Echo.
