Not only that, but how long before we start getting Kinect specific achievements? It already annoys me with some of the Online only achievements, since, if you buy the game rather late on, there's a good chance that you're going to miss out on getting these achievements. I don't want them to do what Nintendo did, and concentrate too much on this gimmick and forget about the hardcore gamers.

I strongly disagree with online achievements aswell, i love Assassins Creed brotherhood but im not a fan of playing it online, so unlike Assassins Creed 2 i cant get all achievements because it has online ones

 

There are still some people believe it or not who dont have their Xbox connected to live, so its unfair on them aswell. If the game developers want to include online achievements, maybe they should make it optional. Ask at the beginning if online achievements should be enabled or something!

I think online achievements are Microsoft's way of luring non-XBL members onto online gaming. Not getting online achievements makes people have a desire to get them. They should actually be optional, much like the Kinect achievements.

No, you can't. You need gold to play online MP, so you need gold to get the online achievements.

Seems so, sadly. The online shops have had the same date for a while now. One of few games I seriously want on the Tuesday. Should get it Thursday, but that's only slightly better.

Xbox 1 came out novemeber 15 2001 and xbox 360 came out november 22 2005 that's a 4 year span. xbox 360 to 2012 that's a 7 year span the life cycle is growing more and since there's a ton of leaked info on the net including them working on a new system since 2006 is believable. I think it will be announced at E3 and released in november with gta V as a launch title.

Your UNDERSTANDING is wrong. If you don't know WTF you are talking about, just don't post.

 

There is a difference between online and offline achievements. Offline achievements deal with single player story, single player challenges or through single player collectables. Online achievements deal with online play as in competitive or cooperative multiplayer. You need a GOLD account to play online, so you need a gold account to get those achievements. Clear?

He's on about a new console altogether, not just a different version of the 360.

I have a question. I'm getting the new 360 from amazon, but I have a 250GB hard drive on my old Xbox at the minute, I was just wondering if that old HDD will actually fit on these new black Xbox models?

Nope. Sorry. I had the same problem. The new drives are about 1/4 the size of the big old side mounted ones with a whole different way to connect them.

 

Also keep in mind that xbox originals will not work if you buy a third party drive. I learned that the hard way and now I can't play III,VC, and SA any more.

If you mean the new slim model, they have different hard drives to the non-slim 360. I'm not sure exactly, not knowing anyone who has one, but I think the new hard drives look like this:

 

If you're using one of these models, you'll need one of those transfer kits.

sh*t. I have an old transfer cable that I used from my RROD to this one that I have now. You think the cable will work with the new slim models? I guess if it doesn't I always have the fact that I can use a USB stick now. Two final questions, is it really worth getting the Kinetic deal on amazon? Or is it just a fad that I would probably leave alone like I did with the Wii after 6 months? Also a stupid question now. With these new slim models can you still use them on the side or do you have to stand them up now?

You connect the old HDD to a USB port on the slim, so if thats how your old transfer cable worked it'll probably work the same again. I just transfered to a new slim myself.

 

As much as MS are pushing kinect it just has no appeal to me, and I've got the slim upright. I'm having a problem quick launching games where the whole xbox crashes, so I stood it upright- it's still happening

Yeah I don't really see the point in having Kinetic I mean the novelty would wear off, I went with the 4GB in the end. Didn't see the point in spending another £30 just for 250GB. Considering I have 194GB free on my old xbox right now I think I'll be okay. Does that mean I could use the old HDD just like the USB stick and just have it in all of the time to use my game saves? I'm kinda lazy when it comes to having to swap everything over, so the easiest option would be best.

Yup, that's what I did use a transfer cable, there was a major difference between the S 360 model and it's predecessor.

 

And I was wondering, is Kinect worth the money? I don't think so, but lets hear what you have to say, shall we?

I'm going to go weird and say the Kinect is kinda worth it. It isn't something you may use regularly, but when you do bust out a Kinect game they are oddly fun.

 

The thing about the Kinect is it is almost worth it alone just for the movie controls. I'm not sure I can watch a movie anymore without being able to say "xbox pause" in order to run to the kitchen to get a fresh beverage. My wife got so used to it for movies that we are buying another xbox for the new bedroom TV and she said we needed to get Kinect for that one too.

Well personally, I see that as more money than sense. But this is coming from someone who would rather save that extra £80 for something more important like petrol. Plus I do have a Wii.

Well that makes sense. I might fill my car twice a year(I almost never drive it), and I have a tendency to be pretty frugal with basic living needs, so I may tend to spend unwisely on other unnecessary things

 

Keep in mind it is way different than Wii and PS Move.

Yeah I presume they would be all different, but saying that I know Kinetic makes you have the living room the size of most normal American ones, which honestly I don't have either so it would of been kinda awkward if it never really picked up my movements.
