Xbox Live isn't as perfect as the fanboys say.

 

I'm trying to get the 2 months of Gold for $2 so I added my Paypal account and just before it comes up with the confirm purchase, I get an error code 80190126, and people on the Xbox forums are having the same problem.

 

Also, since it renews itself after the gold ends, if I delete the credit card in my payment options, would it cancel the next bill?

 

EDIT: Nevermind, I can't remove my credit card now I gotta call them damn!

Nothing, it stays with the gamertag, all that information is stored on Microsoft's servers.

Previously played games appear on your Gamercard so I assume they'd show up on the dashboard too.

If you recover you gamertag on the new console then the dashboard still has your details stored, so your games list, last played games and achievement lists ect; will all still be there visible.

Yeah I f*cking hate Microsoft for that sh*t. They make it almost impossible to remove your credit card from them. It's like if you go to a store, buy something, give the clerk your card, and then they refuse to give it back. It's just too shady of a policy for a company as big as Microsoft to do.

 

That's why I always buy the pre-paid cards now. They're only $48 at Costco.

Yeah, I remember trying that, and it not working. It would straight up deny me from doing it. So I'm not sure if it's different from about a year ago or if it was just some sort of glitch. I'm also pretty sure that the option to remove yourself is only going to work if you live within the US/Canada. I know I tried it like a year ago in the UK and it wasn't having any of it despite it giving me the option in the first place. Might of changed since then, but I doubt it.

Doesn't work for me because as soon as I purchased 2 months for $2 from the dashboard, it put Auto-renew on so it renews itself everytime Gold ends therefore not allowing me to remove my credit card, so I have to call them. Motherf*ckers.

 

I called the Australian Xbox number 1800 555 741 and the whole thing was American, and the American dude I was talking to was so much more friendly than the idiots we get here for things such as Sony and various companies. Within 2 minutes I turned off auto-renewal.

If you have your credit card on your Xbox then you can add MSP.

Or if you dont want them to have such details then just go to a store yourself a buy a pre paid points card. If you're in no rush for them, you should end up getting them cheaper from somewhere else other than MS themselves.
