Sometimes the mic f*cks up and you can't hear people and other times you can't talk and you have to restart your xbox to fix it(which sometimes doesn't work) I don't know if t hat's your situation but it happens to me all the time.

Exactly the situation. Glad I'm not alone at least.

Yeah, have your laptop connected to your modem, then plug your xbox 360 into your laptop's ethernet port, then make sure your internet sharing is turned on.

You can't get Live for free? You just get an internet connection that can lead to a Gold account if you pay. When you first get an Xbox and make a Gamertag you get like a free month of Gold.

party mode is where you can invite your friends into a quick game before you jump into multiplayer modes using the phone. Its pretty much free-mode but with just your friends!

Or 1 month of live for a £1 and two free games. It's sh*t that they won't accept my debit card, and it seems that there is no other actual way of getting live apart from paying full price for it in store.

 

Anyway, a question for you lot. Am kinda looking for a good adventure game, sort of like Zelda if you get me. I tried out Fable 1 back in the days, and enjoyed it, but have never picked up Fable 3 because all I see is bad reviews for it, saying how buggy the game is and everything. I've also seen Bioshock mentioned a few times, but not sure if it will suit me. Anyone able to help me find some decent adventure games?

I recently bought a 250GB hard drive, finaly. Everything was fine but after downloading a ton of stuff my console started to freeze and automatically restart itself, and upon signing back in, it crashed and restarts again and continues this loop. The only fix is to manually remove all downloads from the queue via xbox.com.

 

I cleared my cache and it still does it whenever I try and download something. Does anyone know the cause of this? As it is really sucks, and I need to download sh*t.

Is it one of the new consoles (the shiny ones) or one of the old consoles (the dull ones)?

Due to the fact the only recent addition to the console is the hard drive im going to take a stab in the dark and say its the NAT settings lol JK! I havent heard of this problem before! Is it an official HDD or did you just buy an external 250 gb one? The other thing to try is use a memory stick format it and see if you can download onto that.

Not sure if there are different versions for different countries, as the hard drive was named in japanese characters. Which seemed odd. It also didnt come with anything in the box other than the hard drive encased in card and a plastic bag. None of which was sealed or taped. This was supposed to be brand new.

 

Id try to download to an external but it wouldnt solve any problems really, I need to be able to download onto it.

 

It is one of the grey ones not black, and there isnt any indication that it isnt official. It even says microsoft when I select that storage device in the system blade.

 

This sucks balls.

sh*t, that does look a bit off. Looks more like an explosive shoe device. Still, don't understand why it would let you move stuff onto it, but not download onto it. Did you not say you got it from Amazon?

It did let me download onto it. I installed various games to the hard drive and I downloaded a bunch of arcade games and a few bits of dlc. Which I was doing for quite a while. Then after one piece finished downloading almost instantly it crashed.

 

Not it wont accept a download.

 

 

 

And I cant reformat it because it has all my sh*t on it now.

I remember when i was downloading the old Pro Evo demo and some videos and the demo somehow got corrupted and my Xbox would keep crashing and when signing back in what crash again on loop like yours..

 

What i did was turn the Xbox on without signing into the profile the downloads are on, then i went to the memory part and found the corrupted data and deleted it.

 

^^^The next download in line must be the one that is corrupted if it crashed as soon as it started.

I found the corrupted file that I cancelled, and removed it and anything else that wasnt finished. But it still seems to happen when I try and download a brand new file.

Weird that it didn't come with anything. I got my 250GB HDD from Amazon and it came with a cable transfer kit along with a CD and a sh*t load of booklets from MS. Don't honestly know how to help you out with the problem other than maybe getting your money back from the company if you still can?

Ok so i need serious help here, all week now when ive tried to play online my connection just wont go above 2 bars, its lagging awfully, i cant play atall because its so terrible!

My connection is wireless, has been since ive had my xbox (a year now) as i cant hardwire it because my modem is in another room!

 

My NAT type is open, my internet has security so noones stealing it from next door or anything, but even when im the only one in the house and the xbox is the only thing connected to the internet its on an unplayable 2 bar its only this week its been happening and i have no idea why?

 

Any ideas? as this is pissing me off bigtime

Have you tried resetting both the router itself and maybe unplugging the adapter on the Xbox and putting it back on and seeing if that helps? It helped me just deleting my connection info on the Xbox and putting it all in again and it stopped the same problem I was having.

And is anyone here still playing MW2 online, and noticed how bad the lag is? Now, I've only been playing for a few days now, but since then it keeps changing the server mid-game, everyone is always jumping around the map, and then everyone gets kicked off the game due to transmission error. It's rather annoying when your on a killstreak, shooting at a guy and suddenly the game switches server and you all start off in a new place.

Not sure if it's your thing, but Red Dead Redemption is a pretty long game, I've been playing it for around 20 hours and still haven't finished the game. Then there's Undead Nightmare and multiplayer as well. It's been out for over half a year now so it's pretty fairly priced too.

Hey man, if you haven't played RDR, I would suggest that.

 

I've been giving games I wouldn't normally think I'd like but have found to be great and some I know I'd like.

 

Well you might like Batman: Arkham Asylum. I okay it for about an hour here and there and it's quite enjoyable. Great graphics, fighting and story.

 

Also, Mass Effect 2. Not a big fan of future sci-fi's but this is epic. 2 disc game with superb grahics and gameplay. You'll spend hours and hours having fun in this game.

 

Metro 2033: Unique game with a great story in a dark, gritty and a lot of the time spooky envoirnmet set in Russias metro system after a disaster. Can't believe that game is more spoke about. Maybe because it's only on the 360 and there's no multiplayer.

Actually it's available on the PC as well. I thought it was on the PS3 too but I might be wrong.

 

Fun game but I wouldn't call it "long-lasting." I beat it in about three days. Atmosphere was amazing, though.

I was interested in Metro when I saw it in a few gaming magazines, before it got released. It grabbed my attention, but then I guess I just forgot about it somehow. I saw it recently and nearly bought it, but for some reason the graphics turned me away. I don't know if they are that bad in-game, but on the back, that image of the guy in the mask, looked horrible, like some PS2 game.

 

I've seen RDR mentioned everywhere on this forum, but wasn't sure if everyone was just going on about it because this is kind of a R* forum, or whether it actually was a good game. And I've not read much about it, but I played the first one, and it didn't really stand out for me, and I shelfed it after like 1 hour and never played it again. Now I see everyone going on about the game, but what exactly makes it such a great game?

 

And would you say Batman is for Batman fans purely, or could anyone pick the game up and enjoy it?

 

I was looking through Amazon earlier for some cheap games, and Bioshock 2 popped up, and I nearly bought it, but then I thought it would be pointless with me not playing the first one. I've heard excellent reviews about the first one, some type of action-adventure-fps game mixed in one? And then I remember reading that Bioshock 2 is not as good as #1, so that was another reason I didn't pick it up. Anyone on here actually played Bioshock?

 

A guess what am after is a game with imagination and some fun elemet in it. All I seem to have for my 360 is 'realistic' games, such as Forza, MW, IV...it's time to have some fun, lol. The reason I said adventure games is because they usually tend to concentrate on the fun part of the game, but I guess am not bothered about genre as long as the game is fun.

 

I remember playing Silent Hill for 360, and it was the first SH game I have ever played, but due to me borrowing it off a friend, I didn't play it much. Would anyone reccommend me picking it up again?
