You an enter a Debit card number into the Credit Card area... it'll read it the same... and there's prepaid Point cards... lowest is 800 then 1200 then 4000... theres also a 400 point card but its kinda rare...

I tried but it won't accept it. I know you can buy the points in store, but I was just hoping to set up a card so that it makes it easier then having to rush to the store everytime I want to purchase something online.

 

Another question about Live now. I was playing Forza 3 the other day and decided to jump into an online race. The race was in progress so I decided to spectate the race, only to find myself watching a car bouncing (literally) all around the track, and at one point when he should have flown off the track, magically stayed on the track and made a perfect corner. Now, I like to think that I have a decent connection to the internet, since am not even on wireless. I have my cable hooked straight into the modem, which has speeds of up to 20mbps (Medium Broadband on Virgin for you England people)...and even MW2 works perfectly fine, and if anything I'd expect more lag on that game.

 

So, question been, is it some cheat, or was it due to bad lag, and if so, why am I getting such bad lag on Forza but running perfectly fine on MW2, IV, Red Alert and others?

hmmm... i dont know what to tell ya then...

 

and Forza 3 is pretty good at keeping the lag nearly unnoticeable... so it was probably a hack or something...

 

but thats just my opinion...

Thinking it may be due to my internet connection as MW2 was jumping me all over the place recently. Say a guy was coming straight at me and I shot him in the head, technically I wouldn't be shooting at him as I was seconds behind, and say I wasn't even touching the controller my guy would be jumping around the floor and shooting the weapon. Was rather annoying.

When we had this race with one of our scottish mates our gameplay was fine but because his connection was slow his car was doing this for us!

That video could mean two things for me then, either the guys I were spectating had bad connection, or mine is. I never actually bothered to try online as I thought it would be pointless...will wait to get my live re-activated and try again.

Can i play xbox games on the xbox 360? i know you can download xbox games from the marketplace, but if i was to put an original xbox disc in, would it work?

If you have a Premium or Elite, or the new Slim console, then you can play the majority of original xbox games. But if you have an arcade console then you can't play any.

Yeah, I saw that on my 360, but the sh*t thing is that it won't accept my maestro card, meaning am going to stick to paying full price in the shops, unless Amazon have a cheaper deal going at the moment.

 

Edit: Saw this, which is quite good since it's £35 for just the 12 month membership in shops.

I just played the Crysis 2 mp demo today, I am pretty impressed. Kinda similar to Halo. My first game was pretty bad cuz I didnt know the controls. But now Im rank 4 so 2 more and I unlock the 2nd game mode. I will also download Bulletstorm demo.

 

I also played some Halo Reach, trying for the weekly challenge (winter congruency LASO) and I f*cked up pretty bad because of the Blind skull. So I went play some RDR, I did a few strangers then went multiplayer. I got the game not long time ago. I am done with the story and some side quests, but didnt play THAT much mp. I am lvl.9 right now.

Is there a known issue with voice messages not always working? Every once in awhile I will go to play a voice message and I hear nothing. When that happens it doesn't let me record messages either.

 

It never really bothered me until the other night when I kind of needed/wanted it for some MP action with some folks around here.

Ah damn, I set that up to download and then totally forgot to finish the download off as I jumped straight into a game. Gonna have to check it out though, heard nowt but positivity for this game.

Ive only ever had this happen When my friend has recorded a message when the microphone mute button is on! Or i have done the same! i havent heard of that technical problem before!

I thought it may have just been my kinect mic so I put on the headset and was able to record. The person responded with a voice msg, yet I still couldn't hear it.

 

ahwell...not that big of a deal. I just wanted to ask here before I start combing the internet.

I just played the Crysis 2 mp demo today, I am pretty impressed.

Finally played it today, and I also agree it's quite a good game. There's a few places where abit of work needs putting in, but overall it's a fun shooter. When's the release date again?

 

And a need some help with MW2. This guy sent me a message saying he will give me 10th for 2100 Microsoft Points, so a replied with "huh?"...and he just told me to join his session when invited. Few hours later and he invites me to a team deathmatch game, and I get to the screen where you choose the team to play on, and I can't select anything, and all the music goes weird, as if the game has crashed. I then get logged out from the game and get returned to the lobby. Was this some type of scam? Can someone explain what this '10th' is?

10th Prestige. Highest level. It would have been a scam, if you'd given him points. Otherwise, just a typical Xbox Live c*nt.

I was going to but I didn't understand what he was on about, so it would have been a false report. It seems to be a clan scam though, as a couple of the same clan were in the lobby, and they were asking everyone about it. May report him next time I load the 360 up and find him on my previously met list.

Slamman's still about? well the problem is a new one on me. Could be something to do with NAT settings flipping from moderate to open that can cause problems with talking to other users!

I could understand NAT settings affecting direct chat, but messages? That would be really strange.

Well they say that NAT settings affect communication with people! and i pressume you still need to retrieve the voice messages from the xboxlive server! once they have been set.

 

but i have noticed that my xbox comes up with an error code since the last update saying that certain xbox live features are unavaliable and i lose all but my xbox and friends tab. It returns after a while but might have something to do with that.

Sometimes the mic f*cks up and you can't hear people and other times you can't talk and you have to restart your xbox to fix it(which sometimes doesn't work) I don't know if t hat's your situation but it happens to me all the time.

This may sound like a really stupid question, but I really don't want to pay £60 for a wireless adapter so I was wondering, can I connect to Xbox live by running an Ethernet cable to my laptop and using the laptops wireless connectivity instead?

Yes you can, infact it's what I've been doing for the past 2 years. Only problems you get are you ability to host games. Games you host will most likely lag.

Pretty much. Might be a bit of a battle getting your NAT type to Open, but that's about it. Everything works fine
