I haven't used my 360 in a long time. Now there's an even newer NXE thingy going on as I can see, but just one question: where the hell can I watch game trailers now?!

I watch game trailers and reviews on Youtube, just type the name of the game then review or trailer, it should work.

No, I mean from within Xbox Live.. the reason for that is because my 360 is connected to an HDTV.

Game marketplace > explore game content > titles A-Z > extras > see all extras.

There's no 'game videos' now,

Apothecaries Weight

Turned on my xbox this morning and had RROD fml. I've got a warranty but I'm moving houses in 2 weeks so I can't f*cking send until I shift then It still takes about 4 weeks over here.

f*ck this sh*t.

If it takes over 4 weeks to get it sent back to you why not just get them to return it to your new house address? Since I'm pretty sure that's possible since it would be coming back via a courier company right?

Think ive had my 360 almost a year now, maybe less, never had a problem with it until recently!

Occasionally ill put it a game, it will come up saying reading disc for ages then the open tray menu will appear, even though theres a game in the drive its not recognising it even when i switch the game over and clean the discs (Which are all perfect condition)

Went on to the 360 website and theres ways round it, like clear the system cache, remove all USB devices before turning the console on, or removing and then re-adding the HDD!

It does work after all that, but it sucks having to do it in the first place confused.gif

Theres videos on how to fix it with out having to clear the cache or the USB thing... but it requires voiding the warranty and opening it up...

all you have to do is youtube search "Xbox Disk Drive Error fix" i believe...

I once got RROD about 1 and a half years ago, the old trick of turning it off and on again worked, never had any other problems with the console its self. At least we get the luxury of a red ring, PS3 owners only get a small yellow light.

Does your xbox click a few times whilst trying to read the disc before saying Open Tray? Because that's mine is doing currently

The open tray error is caused by the drive itself. You can tap the top of the console while it's reading for a temp fix, but it will deteriorate and you'll eventually have to get a new drive. The warranty for this is one year less than the RROD (2yrs).

I had the open tray error for about a year, and the amount of banging the top of the console to get it going increased to the point where it wouldn't go any more. It was out of warranty, but I found a place local that put me a new drive in for £50. It's such a relief to be able to play games normally again, and now I always install games to the HDD to cut down on wear and tear.

its my understanding that if your brought a brand new copy then you should have a code that comes with your game to enable the online mode, If you have borrowed it from a friend or brought second hand then all you can do is buy the online pass for that game from the marketplace 600 or 800 ms points i think.

Yeah thats why EA is viewed as a "bad" company...

now back to NCIS LA online biggrin.gif

That's a f*cking joke what EA are doing there, it's fair enough giving bonus content to new copies to boost sales but actually stripping the online away from borrowed/pre-owned game takes it to far.

Play on your brothers GT then?

or just buy another code... thats all you can do outside of buying a whole new game.... $10 or $15 isnt too bad considering a new game is $50 to $60...

but yeah EA is a bunch of c*nts... unfortunatly they're not the only company to do such... i believe Ubisoft came up with it in the first place but EA has done it with every game...

Long Haired Freaky Guy

Hey, so am kind of new to all the Xbox Live thing, and I was just wondering if the only way to purchase marketplace items online was by having a credit card only? I currently only own a debit card and I couldn't seem to find an option for all that.

And another question. When you play online, does it use all your player stats from your single player character? I kind of accidentally deleted all my gamerscore from my 360, meaning am having to restart every game yet again...but, say for IV, if I jumped into multiplayer, does it make any difference how far through the game you are?

im not a 100% sure but i think that it depends on the game! Most of the stats are held online and will save. But for instance if you re register a name for xboxlive because the one you chose has allready been taken then it will re-set all your stats because it will be linked in with your old gamertag/name.

You can buy pre-paid Microsoft Point cards in store which contains a code on the back you type in which adds the points to your account.

You an enter a Debit card number into the Credit Card area... it'll read it the same... and there's prepaid Point cards... lowest is 800 then 1200 then 4000... theres also a 400 point card but its kinda rare...

The companies want a bite of the $1 billion + second hand game market.

EA isn't the only company doing it. Ubisoft is doing it, THQ is implementing a similar program and I think many other companies are.

Ironically, the only company not doing it is Activision. Yes, the most hated company today isn't charging people for buying a second hand company.

They will soon... in an interview Kotick said that he wants to do a similar thing as EA but mildly different... so it'll only be a matter of time...

I tried but it won't accept it. confused.gif I know you can buy the points in store, but I was just hoping to set up a card so that it makes it easier then having to rush to the store everytime I want to purchase something online.

Another question about Live now. I was playing Forza 3 the other day and decided to jump into an online race. The race was in progress so I decided to spectate the race, only to find myself watching a car bouncing (literally) all around the track, and at one point when he should have flown off the track, magically stayed on the track and made a perfect corner. Now, I like to think that I have a decent connection to the internet, since am not even on wireless. I have my cable hooked straight into the modem, which has speeds of up to 20mbps (Medium Broadband on Virgin for you England people)...and even MW2 works perfectly fine, and if anything I'd expect more lag on that game.

So, question been, is it some cheat, or was it due to bad lag, and if so, why am I getting such bad lag on Forza but running perfectly fine on MW2, IV, Red Alert and others?

hmmm... i dont know what to tell ya then...

and Forza 3 is pretty good at keeping the lag nearly unnoticeable... so it was probably a hack or something...

but thats just my opinion...
