There's actually a button on the top of the controller beside the charging cable connection that lets you switch the lights on and off. And I got it from www.llamma.com, but the company that makes the controller shell is XCM, and pretty much any site that has 360 case or controller mods will carry their products.

Sweet controller Kajun. As for my 360 it is up and running on my step up/step down converter now the only problem I'm having is the fact my screen is black and white. The only 2 inputs on the TV are actually yellow and white so I've plugged them in so now I have no colour. Any of you guys know what cable I need to get colour and the name of it so I can get it from Radio Shack tomorrow or sometime soon?

I'd double check the television connections or the cable. The yellow cable is the one that carries the video data, the red and white cables carry the sound for the left and right channels. The picture on the TV should have colour, since the red cable that isn't plugged in has nothing to do with the video.

 

Sounds like an older TV though, I haven't seen many TV's that don't have both red and white. Are there any other yellow input ports on the TV? That particular video connection may be messed up.

Well I get the cable upstairs from downstairs and I get colour while just watching TV. I can play around with the inputs a little later and get back to you on it. But I tried pushing them both in as much as possible when connecting them and wondering why its black and white and nothings changed to colour so I don't understand myself.

 

Edit - Just tried playing around with the yellow cable and nothings changed. I tried using the HD ones and when its flicked to TV I think the green one gave the same black and white image to. Of course putting the little flick to HDTV just makes my screen go blank.

Sh*t, I never thought of it, but it's probably because your 360 is PAL and the television is NTSC. It will show the video because the signal is sort of compatible, but there won't be any colour because that part of the signal isn't compatible.

 

You'll need a PAL to NTSC video converter.

My Xbox 360 250gig showed up in the mail today, installed all my games to the HDD, I am loving how quiet it is. Also, the Wi-Fi range/ strength is very impressive. I am across the house from my router and my laptop struggles to find signal at times, but I was able to run CoD perfectly smooth.

Your best bet would be to call around to your local chain stores (Best Buy, Radioshack, etc.) and all the independent computer/electronics stores. I wouldn't imagine it would be an item that they sell everyday, so the websites may not show one, even though they may have some in stock somewhere.

 

And maybe you could talk with someone at computer/electronics shop and see if they could order one for you. I'm not sure how much they would cost though.

I tried to mod my gamertag on MW2 and it worked and then I realized that all of my save games for every game that I own are gone. The save games are still on my hard drive are still there but they're not recognized. I got my MW2 saves back but GTA IV, Red Dead, Gears, everything else. Nope they're gone.

 

Can someone help me out? This is an extremely bad problem.

There's this glitch that deleted all of my save files off of my hard drive but it's weird because I was modding the gamertag on an external usb drive. I tried to recover my profile, disconnecting my hard drive and power, called microsoft and nothing works. Is there anyway to fix this? Seven months of hard hours playing games are all gone.

My friend has had his Xbox 360 since June 2007. He plays it 4+ hours a day (since June 2007), keeps it on carpet, in a room that's always over 30 degrees celcius, and why hasn't it gotten RRoD yet?

Pure luck im thinking, I keep my 360s at about 65-69 degrees Fahrenheit

and i'm on my 8th one so far.....rather sad that 7 of them were new and only the previous one was referb.

Honestly they just sit in open ventilation horizontally and have nothing odd happen to them.

I doubt MS will help you out since you were modding in the first place. Nothing you can honestly do if the save files have been corrupted, thats just what you have to deal with when modding your GT.

 

@Kajun - Cheers for the help, I'm going to stop by Radio Shack later on today and ask them if they have that or if there's anything else that might work instead.

I bought mine in late 2006, also the 20gb model. I used to play hardcore on it everyday back then, nowadays I'll maybe use it once a week most.

 

Never once had any trouble with it. Though it's loud as f*ck..

I got my first one on launch and it lasted from Nov 05 to about Sep 08, I'm on my second one now which is just an Arcade which I got in 08 for Christmas, it sucks that my room is always toasty hot though, that's not doing me any favors...

To me, the idea of keeping the XBOX cool is this:

 

[a] - Put XBOX horizontal

- Keep on a ventilated flat surface, quite a distance up off the floor

[c] - Keep room as cool as possible

 

 

The XBOX can only be as cool as the air around it. This probably makes Winter one of the best times, since the air is cold.

In winter people tend to close all doors/windows so theres no air circulating so wouldn't that somehow screw it up? Because the hot air generated by the Xbox 360 will just stay in the one place...around the Xbox 360

In Winter here in the UK I have the windows behind my 360 right open. By "keep room as cool as possible" I meant by using deskfans and/or opening windows

Really, this person here has a strange looking profile... they have exactly 1,000 gamerscore in every game they have every played, and 50,000 total. Isn't that a weird amount?

 

Could be a false alarm, but is there a way I could report them to have it checked out?

Same here. I just think people with modded gamer tags are kids with a deserted childhood that are wanting attention. Nothing more. It doesn't make you look cool, it doesn't make you look pro. It's actually damn annoying when they are talking and all you can see is the guy with "X BABY X LT RT LT LT RT RT" talking.

 

And it takes about 20 reports against someone before Microsoft even CONSIDER taking action. Don't put your hopes up

I don't think he's a gamesaver, hacking your gamescore usually gives you no dates when achievements have been unlocked, all his online achievements show dates as well.

 

I just think he is a completionist and has a lot of spare time
