For $500 and it comes with a wired controller. Go for it?

I just recieved an Xbox360 today and I go to put a game in, and a white screen that reads in multiple languages comes up stating "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox360 console"

 

What the f*ck? Anybody else ever get this message? Are there psuedo360's out there?

 

The game managed to work once out of the 10 times I restarted the system, but then froze after about 10 minutes, and now I'm getting the same message over and over upon restart.

 

Any remedies?

I'm looking into getting a three-month membership of XBL Gold, but I may opt to the full year membership if I have enough money left after spending.

 

Anyone know how it works? Do I have to buy the card and enter the code, or could I do it instantly by phone or something like that? I kinda want it for Christmas Day as I'll be getting CoD4.

You can do it off the Xbox itself, choose three months, slap in your credit card details and its done.

FYI I got my other 360 secondhand, so yeah Before I buy though, I will check to see if the seal is broken. If not, then it is still under warranty considering how new the Elite system is (About 6 months since release). I'm going to trade in all of the other games that either I or my brother are not interested in at GameStop, still a good deal considering how sh*tty they value games.

Well, after waiting months, I finally got an Xbox 360 today. =] Forza 2 and Viva Pinata came with it free.

 

Both games don't really take my fancy. Forza 2 is much better then NFS. Viva Pinata seems to be aimed at 8 year olds... but Gamespot tells me elsewise.

Been playing COD 2 non-stop since yesterday. My 360 isn't even hot at all. I beat the entire Russian campaign in Veteran mode now, unlocking 3 extra achievements. One hell of a game.

Well a nice Christmas, got to keep my Rock Band, got Skate. and Guitar Hero III (just the game though). First thing I did was play the Halo song, I downloaded it regardless of whether or not I had the game when it came out.

Hey i recently got an hd tv and am trying to hook up my 360 to it but have a problem with the sound. i can connect the red blue and green video cables fine but then when i go to connect the red and white audio cables to the tv i have a problem. the audio input sockets are differnet than the video ones and i dont know why. so i get an hd picture but no sound as the ausio cables dnt stay in, they fit in and if i jiggle them about i get sound. does anyone know how to fix this as its reali frustraing. thanks

Hmm. Perhaps you are right.

I'm not too sure if I's like Skate, skateboarding games seem to bore the hell outta me.

Going by what you've said I'd say it's definitely a problem with the audio inputs on your HDTV. If you can't get it working then hook both cables up to an amp and have the sound come from a set of speakers, or convert the cables into a standard stereo jack and then into wherever's easiest.

Or you could buy an optical audio cable. It fits to the piece of the video cables that goes into the 360. They deliver Dolby surround sound, while the white and red ones are only standard stereo.

I just found out about the xbox hdmi cable but it sounds too simple to be true. here is a link to the one i saw:

Does this simply plug into the xbox and then into the tv and allow for hd picture and sound? my tv has hdmi input. would this not solve my problem??

As long as it doesn't require the seperate audio inputs for sound, you should be fine.

No problem, this is it right here, great deal for it online. I paid twice as much. As a note, this is not included with the 360.

Well I got around to playing Rock Band. The USB hub won't work, so I'll look into that. The songs are great though. However, I prefer the gameplay and visuals of Guitar Hero much more. Good thing I got both

Yeah just look around on your surround sound box r your TV. If it is HD then I am sure it has one.

 

In other news, Rock Band really isn't my thing. Maybe it's just my pissy mood today for some reason, don't know why.
