Picked up a VGA cable for my 19' Samsung LCD monitor. OMG. Soooo much happier. It's a temporary fix while I save up for an HDTV.

Nice. I was doing the same until I spilled beer in my monitor.

 

Although I've found a better alternative to better quality on a standard TV, the advanced scart/AV lead which ouputs full RGB and generally gives off a better picture quality (no more mushy reds and oranges) as well as a sharper image. Now I can actually read the text!

Has anyone been using the move rental download thing from the Xbox Live Marketplace?, What do you think of it so far?.

 

I've not used it yet but i know that '300' is going to be available for one day which will be the 27th of December for only 100 Microsoft points and it usually costs like 540 points so that's a bargain. I might try that as '300' was an awesome movie and 100 points will be nothing if it's going toward it.

I'm well pissed. I sent my 360 off over a month ago, and they still haven't gotten it back to me.

 

Turns out the idiots at UPS can't find where I f*cking live, even though it's on every map. They said they tried to contact me, which is bullsh*t as I never received any note saying failed delivery, or any phonecalls.

 

So now they've sent it back to Microsoft, but now they don't know where it is! Guess no 360 gaming this Christmas.

 

 

 

By the way, does anyone know my consumer rights for this whole cock-up? They did say it would be back before Christmas, and it's not.... so I must be entitled to some sort of compensation... right?

Usually it's just "within reasonable time", but it might be different where you live.

 

I've heard that they aren't too bad at giving out free games and such if the repair takes too long, but they really didn't do anything wrong in this matter so I'm not sure if they will in this situation.

The best buy's here in st.louis, they have tons of GHIII in stock with guitar as well as without. Rock Band seems to be the only thing missing there

Our Hastings has tons of copies of GHIII in stock, with and without guitar, and they have about twenty copies of Rock Band in stock.

My 360 is f*cked. It's not even the f*cking 3 red lights, either. I get these red tiles all over the screen and whatever I am playing locks up. Once, while ejecting a disc after the tiles appeared, the disc tray came out with the disc still spinning. It didn't break it, but I'm sure as hell not trusting my 360 with discs anymore.

 

This is the first day of a seven day vacation for me. I have been hoping for some f*cking relaxation and light gaming with friends and sh*t for so long, and now my 360 is broke. And a horrible snow storm is supposed to f*ck all the roads up. And I got absolutely f*ck-all to do, even though I know that after my week off I'll be swamped with tons of sh*t to do. Guess I'll call Microsoft tomorrow or something.

My 360 has never failed me, simply because I'm doing the right things: keeping it on a flat, wooden surface, well ventilated, and turning it off inbetween the times I stop playing it. If you're not doing any of those, then chances are it will suffer problems in the future.

I did all those things. Treated it like royalty. Seemed that trying to play a game on a random day was too much for it, though. Bewm, new disc drive required.

Well I've got the newer version Microsoft brought out. They seem to very reliable as opposed to the originals, that's probably why I haven't experienced any problems with it.

 

Edit: Tried the Advanced Scart/AV cable; it is a big step up from the standard composite cables and improves the graphics and colours. Recommended for anyone with an SDTV and want a better picture (and want to actually read the text without squinting ).

But no, I've never had the urge to just leave my 360 on when I leave my house for the day.

I've never moved it while moving, I have never had it in any other place beside the well-ventilated area I talked about, I've never done anything harmful at all to it. I take just as good care of my PC, which somehow manages to keep working. Maybe it's because it's not a 360.

exactly. I'm sorry that I can't just say: "My 420 dollar investment just broke because the company that made it did a piss poor job. Also, my several games that I also invested in are now worthless, too.
