I've actually haven't experimented enough with games and such but what about on Xbox Originals?

I bought San Andreas from the Xbox Originals marketplace, and it runs pretty smoothly for me. I haven't tried playing it on disc using my 360, but it's always been fine from the HDD.

Another benefit of loading to the HD is that it makes your 360 one hell of a lot quieter. It also increases the life of your drive and can fix freezing problems for games that read the DVD a lot.

Yep, pretty much. Although I believe that there are still going to be updates to the free catalogue, they're most probably going to take their focus to the Marketplace and Unlockables side of the Avatar system.

Since I've still only got the original 20GB HDD, only game I've installed is GTA IV. It really helped though, when I was playing off the disc it froze constantly (and it's still in mint condition), but from the HDD I haven't had a single problem with it.

 

Also, about my connection, I'm still on vacation in Indiana, and my relatives' ISP is Comcast. Worst. Internet. Ever.

The thing is some divvy's out there will buy the clothes at the shown prices, what every Xbox Live member needs to do is not buy a single piece of clothing, then there will be no other option for Microsoft than to lower the prices. NEVER going to happen though.

 

Forget to mention that unlocking game related clothing from achievements will be awesome though...

It'll probably just be t shirts and stuff.

 

I doubt MS will drop the prices by the time this update drops, but at the end of the day I don't really give a sh*t about the avatars. I mean just look at the state of mine.

Really? GTA IV running on my HDD runs like sh*t. Textures pop up out of no where, roads and signs disappear which horribly reminds me of San Andreas.

 

And about the new update for NXE, I happily signed up for it, just an hour after Major Nelson posted it up on his blog. No e-mail yet, but I should get it (hopefully).

Apparently it was only given out to a select few today, mainly members of the press. The other people who signed up for it should get access (if they're chosen) in the next few days.

Ok fellas, I have a question here.

 

A few months ago, my 360 RROD'd. My laziness stopped from calling Support and getting them to pick it up and repair it, so after leaving it for so long, I was thinking of just buying a new one. But I need to know something before I stick my hand in my pocket.

 

If I get my 360 repaired, will my save games be lost or still intact?

 

So please answer, even laugh at my lack of 360 knowledge if you must. Whatever you do, thanks.

You saved games are on your hard drive. When you send off your 360 to get repaired you're supposed to remove your hard drive. So if you do remove it, your save games will obviously remain intact Don't waste your money on a new 360 when Microsoft repair 'em for free. I know some tards who have done that... such a feckin' waste of money.

Hehe, yeah, probably would have cried. I might have a go fixing this myself, I'm pretty sure it's past it's warranty and the cost of repair+shipping in AUD probably isn't too far off a new arcade.

Picked up a used copy of Battlefield: Bad Company at Hastings today. Got it for twelve bucks, and it's still in good shape (I was expecting one of those rings around the middle of the disc, but it only has minor scratches).

 

I was hoping for a used copy of Skate 2, but they only had three or four new copies that were $60 a piece.

Wreckless was a great game.

 

It showed what the Xbox could do. It had that light 'glow' with real time lighting. I really enjoyed it.

Has anyone noticed there is always the same guy who gets in the Top 3 in the crowd? I forgot the full gamertag but it was something like ___dog123 or something a long those lines. That guy must be either extremely smart, or a button masher/extremely smart.

Not only that, but I hope they do that with CoD4. They can always just release an update to add some unlockables. It would keep the game fresh before MW2.

I can't see anything being done for CoD4 personally, IW have shifted their focus to their new game. It's certainly a possibility for MW2 though, they could use something like a ghillie suit. But they can forget it if they're expecting payment.
