My Christmas list is pretty bare right now (hint hint).

Call of Duty 4 is required buying for ALL 360 owners this Christmas. Seriously, there is nothing more I can say to make you buy this game. Go do it and thank me later.

Get Halo, quality fun with friends. I've been just doing co-op with my mate and its a right laugh. And you got to get The Orange Box, Half Life 2, TF2, Portal etc for one price is a bargain.

Nothing as far as gaming is concerned, but otherwise you get a built in HD drive, 120GB HDD and a black paint job with blac controllers. That's about it I guess...

You do not get a HD drive with the Elite. All you benefit from is the black colour and 120GB drive as standard. You're also guaranteed the new cooling model and HDMI connection, however new premium models have HDMI also.

Also, how does the wireless controller work power-wise? Do I have to replace the batteries after every 30 hours of play, or can I charge them up?

An ethernet cable, yes.

The power lasts quite a while actually, the original batteries that i got with my console lasted over a week and i hammered it when i first got it.

 

You could buy a Xbox 360 play & charge kit or a Quick Charge Kit. Both do a good job.

 

I'm currently using the play and charge thing and that's one of the best purchases i've made for my 360.

Thanks Seddo. Yeah, the Quick Charge Kit looks like it would suit me, bit pricey though.

I think that's the going rate for that item, you could try shopping around though considering it's Christmas Argos, Asda or some gaming stores could have a few little offers on, so shop around a bit.

Don't have it, but it's already on the list. Looks awesome.

 

I've also already got PGR4 and Forza 2 on the list. I'm also thinking about adding Test Drive: Unlimited. Rented it once and it was mildly fun.

 

Still haven't found a 360 compatible DSL router.

Correct, you'd need access to wireless internet for that to work.

Thanks, man. Believe it or not, I already have an Xbox 360. But its a core and its sh*t. So I'm going to sell it now and then buy an Elite with GTAIV when it finally rears its ugly head.

Just got back from Wal-Mart. Before that, I went to Hastings and rented myself a copy of PGR 4. Was hoping for CoD4, but there were no copies in.

 

Fixing to play it in a few minutes. Anyway, I've got two interesting stories. First one is, while I was browsing the electronics, they were replacing the PS3 controller for their display model. Turns out that's the fourth controller they've replaced this month. Every time I try it, the analog sticks are... well, f*cked up. No other way to put it. Plus, I've noticed a few times that the little button in the middle is smashed in, and they repeatedly have to restart the PS3 by opening the case, hitting the Reset button, etc. However, the display-360's controller is the same one they've been using since Nov. '06. Only thing wrong with it, is that the little dots on the analog sticks are worn off. Kind of had to laugh about that when a lot of PS3 owners say the 360 controller sucks.

 

Then a few minutes later, while I was looking at strategy guides, I heard a little girl behind me. "Daddy, daddy! This is what I want for Christmas!". "What?". "A Wii! It's sooo cool!". "Oh god". There were six or seven people around my age in the isle that were just laughing. I'm fairly sure everyone there (including the parent) knew what Wiis were going for at the only places you can find them (eBay, mostly).

I just picked up a week-long job racking up about 60 hours starting Wednesday through Christmas Eve. It's only $10 an hour, but I'm only 17, and no tax, all cash. I just have to move the carts and keep the outside of the grocery market looking nice. This means I am probably keeping my Rock Band. I also plan on using the money to buy an Elite from the Microsoft store, and then in turn sell my console after I swap over my memory info.

Just got my first disc-read error with this 360, on Madden of all fu*king games (haven't played it for weeks). Aside from this error and two early instances of RROD, this one's been going on strong for about half a year.

Woot, just picked up a 4 month old 360 with a couple games for $500. Should be picking it up in a week or two. Once I get it, I will get Microsoft to fix my broken one and then I'll have two. One will either go to my parent's for when I go out there. Or it will sit at my sister's for when I go there. Not sure, but either way 2 360s is awesome.

Took PGR4 back to Hastings today, and got a free rental. Used it to pick up a copy of The Godfather (the 360 version of the game, not the movie).

 

I just didn't enjoy PGR4 that much. This, however, looks promising (though I have a feeling it's going to suck).

I didn't care for PGR either, not "real" enough for me. I'll stick with Forza.

 

The Godfather, fun as hell but very short.

As well as Tom Clancy's End War, Army of Two, Battlefield: Bad Company, Bully, Condemned 2, Devil May Cry 4, The Club and that's only a few of the game released in the first quarter of 2008 there's a whole lot more.

Then I got onto the freeway, and started noticing that all of the buildings around me weren't loading. Now I was getting scared. Hightailed it to a safehouse, saved, shut off the console, and felt the back. It was the hottest I've ever felt it.

 

I'm too scared to turn it on again.
