So I was meant to get my Xbox back today, waiting to play Hitman: Contracts, and UPS have lost it. f*ck, have to send in a form and they have to find it, blah, blah - probably going to take another week.

Borrowed Mass Effect off a friend today for the 360, and i have to say i absolutely love it, i've just become a Spectre and i was wondering if anyone has some tips on decision to make in the game, i would post this in a Mass Effect topic (if there was one) but i didn't really want to grave dig.

That sucks Hart, I always worried about them doing the same with my Xbox since it took well over a week for it to finally get back to me. Good luck on getting it back though.

I remember when I had to ship my console off a fair few times, all seperate faults. I was more un-satisfied with Microsoft; I was on the phone to them that many times that I knew the woman's name, she knew mine and we talked about the 360 like we'd made the thing between us. UPS however were very good about it, even when the mis-communication came about where I wasn't told I had to package the 360 myself. The UPS man was nice enough to come back the day after to pick it up, left me the labels and even lent me some tape. I can't hand it to UPS enough.

I never got told about having to box it up myself, especially since it was around the same time when everyone else seemed to have been getting their 'coffins' sent to them. Still UPS are good, you just get the odd time just like with any other company about things being 'lost'.

Just done the World at War Demo. I enjoyed it.

Just played that and completed the demo and it was a little 'meh'.

 

Although the game looks nice and is pretty fluent i just couldn't really get into it, perhaps it was because you only get to kill about 10 enemies and then spend about 20 minutes pressing buttons in the real time events before finally getting to a boss which felt pretty repetitive to beat.

My 360 RROD'd a few days ago. Bloody annoying, I dunno if I'm gonna get a new one or just get my one repaired. And I need to renew my Live at the end of the month. More money out of my pocket.

I've had my 360 since the end of 2006 and the only problem I've ever had with it was in the very beginning it had a faulty power supply brick, so I had to send the power brick and 360 back to them and they gave me a refurbished one in about two weeks. I didn't think it was so bad.

I didn't think much of it, until it closed itself after about ten seconds. No matter what I do, it always closes itself automatically about ten seconds after opening. Any advice? Please don't tell me my 360 is about to bite the big one.

Not the RROD but it probably will require you to pack it up and send it in. It's probably a faulty disc drive.

Perhaps you have some wires or something small blocking the disc tray from opening completely?

I had that problem myself for a while. The disc tray used to keep closing on my hand when I was putting a disc in.

I had a little poke around and it turned out one the wires in front of the console that I thought was out of the way was getting in the way of the disc tray, preventing it from opening fully.

I can't send it in, due to the fact that it's long past its one year warranty for anything that might happen. It isn't, however, past the three year RRoD warranty, which is why I don't want to open it. So suffice it to say, any tinkering I do with it, will have to be done with the seal on the case untouched; which is exactly why this is a problem.

 

I'll just hope it eventually goes away, though.

Something like that happened to me before when I got my Elite. The problem went away soon after but that doesn't necessarily mean the same will happen for you.

I had a similar problem when I first got my 360, although it was pre-owned. The disc try simply refused to open after the first time I had opened it, and nothing I tried would fix it., I just tried again a few hours later and it worked. I still have no idea why it happened & wouldn't open though, I tried everything I could think of.

Truth be told im actually on my 8th xbox, last year i got GOW and a wireless controller for free because of my inconvinience.

Well that's handy. I go to add my credit card info to my Live account, and I can't because Microsoft is having issues with everything. I can't even edit my account info, let alone billing info.

I knew something was up. People kept lagging out of parties and sh*t just wasn't working right. What could it be exactly? Also I'm buying the CODWaW Map pack today solely for the Zombie Asylum map.

 

 

 

Ok so I try to put in the code for my 1600 points and it says it can't complete the process. That's ok I'll do it on the computer...no good. Microsoft needs to fix this sh*t, this is bullsh*t.

As far as i know you can now change what email address you use for your gamertag they updated it with the new update. just go onto your console and sort out your personal settings.

 

If your talking about migrating your Original Xbox GT to your current email i have no idea how to do that.

Is there a way to block someone temporarily on xbox live? Like on MSN/yahoo where you can block them, which makes them not able to see you online, though you can see them online. Then you can unblock them whenever you want to speak/play with them.

You could Appear Offline, that way you can see what everyone else is doing but they can't see you as online. The disadvantage of that in your case is that you would appear as offline to all of your friends, not just selected ones. Alternatively you could set your profile status so that nobody but the people on your friends list and see what you're playing, or you could set it so that nobody can see you profile info. This comes with the same disadvantage as the previous method though, you cannot choose who to block from viewing it.

You could also try Blocking Communications with them, but you have to remove the selected person from your friends list in order to do so. Obviously, if they aren't on your friends list anyway this isn't really a disadvantage.

I'm sure you can, they wouldn't just make it CCs. Plus debit cards are either Mastercard, Visa and all those. Samething

I just wish you could still buy 800 online. That's how it was last time I bought points (excluding when I bought TLAD, I got a 1600 point card from Hastings for that).
