Yeah I know. What I mean is, it's being called the Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition console which makes it sound like it would have some form of distinctive characteristic related to RE5, but the only difference is just a re-colour to red. Might just be me, just find it odd to name it that way

It's just like the Halo limited edition console, i don't think that had any pictures or markings on it. Other than the snotty green colour and buying it with the Halo 3 game there was nothing to distinguish it to Halo.

 

Just a marketing ploy so a few suckers shed out some extra money.

The Halo 3 Limited Edition Console did have defining characteristics and wasn't just a re-colour.

But yeah, in the end it's just done to boost sales.

I nearly got that around the time Halo 3 came out as i really wanted the game but ended up not because i couldn't afford it, i gotta say though, i like the look of the controller, they should have sold that separately instead of the tacky looking Halo ones.

I guess that means only NEW systems that they just put out are going to be the only ones to not get it and that when they send us new systems (that are always refurbished models and they never fix the one you send in) their gonna die too.

Well if they have figured it out the best thing to do would be to actually fix these last consoles that get it so they can put this behind them.

Played some Halo Wars the other night...not that bad, could've been better.

Halo wars is great fun, I like the fact that the squads of marines are made up of different weapon types, instead of standard strategy games that force you to build the certain types. A bit of variety is always good.

how many other people are still experiencing the xbox dashboard frezzing/Hangin issue still, Its been ages and they still havent fixed it yet mine can still hang for upto a minute while waiting for my friends list to come up ( this makes it difficult to send quick invites for anything) Do you recon they are going to wait for the 1vs100 thing to come out before they fix it or do you think even then it still wont work properly?

 

The color of the new system is extracted from the blood of a virgin zombie apparently!

Personally, I've had no problems with the NXE since it was launched, been working well ever since. Although I have had friends mention bad freezes when looking at the friends list.

Any word on what the cause was? I heard the initial problem was overheating and they installed an extra heat sink. Not that it really helped.

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't due to overheating itself but if you heated and cooled it fast in a short period of time then it flex the motherboard (or something) causing the solder to break.

 

So yes, overheating did cause a problem but it wasn't the problem.

I don't think it was all about the soldering breaking up. When my 360 died my mate just whacked 4 screws into the motherboard (i think it was that board) because it had warped and it has worked ever since, mine died in March and it's still going now just because of 4 screws.

I think it also has something to do with the cheaply made X-Clamp, but I'm not really sure.

I've been having it hang a lot when I'm looking at my friends list. Really pisses me off.

Indeed. Any time I try to do something on the dashboard, it lags like sh*t. I'll delete a message, and try to move up to the next message to delete it, and I'll have to wait about a minute each time.

I have the same problem. Also when turning it on and signing in, all is okay, but then it freezes and about a min or so later, it will pop up telling me how many friends/message I have. Its annoying.

I don't see themuch connection to GTA, if anything it looks a lot like Pursuit Force.

 

I have high hopes for the 'new' Riddick game, the original was pretty awesome even though I never finished it, hopefully the new chapter doesn't fail to impress.

I'm on Vin overload, here. The Riddick demo felt just like Butcher Bay, which was very good imo. The Wheelman was actually pretty fun, too. I'll wait to see what the open world is like, though. Wanted had it's moments, but the gameplay seems to have borrowed heavily from other games (especially the cover mechanic) and the aiming response was pretty annoying. The WWE game was very meh. I had a good laugh at the animation for Andre, though. Looked like he was about to have a stroke getting into the ring. Hulk looked like he was wearing a meat backpack, too.

Yeah I turned the sensitivity all the way up and it's still slow as hell aiming. Curving bullets is fun but only when thy put it in slow motion.

 

Wheelman is Craptacular! It's so bad that it's actually pretty good. The fact that you can't knock motorcyclists off their bikes with the first nudge is bullsh*t.

 

Haven't played the Wrestlmania or Riddick demos yet.

I actually thought it was a Grand Theft Auto IV event when I saw the screenshot for it in the Events section on the dashboard. The other screenshots reminded me of GTA even more.

So...just played the Wheelman demo and it was pretty good, nice and bright with colourful graphics. The driving part of the game is decent enough and shouldn't get frustrating but for the odd time i was out of the car it was pretty dodgy looking, but i doubt you'll be out of a car for long in this game, reminds me of Driver.

 

The little car slam is awesome when you see the cop cars flying in the air and then exploding, the other little car perks are awesome as well. Can't see this game giving off much replay value though so i don't think it's a buy but definitely should be a rent.

 

Just downloading the Wanted demo now.
