Just installed NXE to my Xbox 360 too. Made my avatar and installed Far Cry 2 to HDD, I think it's great that the console is now quieter when it reads the games from HDD, but loading times did not get shorter.

 

Still, NXE looks pretty fooking cool, I'll propapbly get deeper into it tomorrow.

Banned for having the update early?, didn't Microsoft say that you wont be banned from Live just temporarily banned until the official NXE release.

 

I like the layout so far but it's kinda of confusing at the moment but i'm sure it wont take long to get my way around. Although at the moment i keep getting the errors when clicking on marketplace things.

I do have the leak downloaded on a USB Drive, but I'm scared that I may never play on Live again when I connect it to the internet (I don't have a connection on my house ATM)

As for people that don't like the avatars, just don't use yours. Simple as that.

New clothing every two weeks for a few months I think. Anyway I don't know why everybody's bitching about the Avatars. You precious little Gamer pics are still there, also of course there are small problems (error codes) because it's just been released, I mean they test for these things but you can't catch everything.

 

 

@ Yao, Nobody got banned for getting th update early. :/Nobody is getting banned for having the leaked version, it's just that if you had it back then you couldn't get back on live till today when it was officially out. I really wouldn't worry too much about it.

i used to get that then my 360 got RROD it was the motherboard but when they sent the checklist back they had also replaced the DVD rom drive im thinking there was a bunch of the 360's with dodgy ones cuz my mate who brought his around the same time i did and he still has the unreadable problem

 

also when im in a party and then go into one of my other friends partys just to have a look at what they are all playing, when i exit there party screen my dashboard just frezzes im still able to chat to the friends in my party but, it frooze for like 3 minutes earlier.

ffs is it just me or is anyone else just getting error codes on everything todo with marketplace, Or anything that has to be retrieved from xbox servers

Works fine for me, I looked at films and downloadable content for games.

cheers hart. Well looks like if i keep getting it MS have lost one good Microsoft points spender, I cant even get on the themes section, I feel like smashing my 360 up, And ontop of that when im in a party the voices keep dropping out this is taking the piss

The LIVE servers are running new code and have a huge load on them at the moment, I can't join any party's myself, however I can view the marketplace and got a nice RB2 theme for the NXE.

I think its Random, while I had plenty of different things with a few of the ones that came with the NXE, the RB2 theme I got only had 3 different backs for my friends, one with bass, One with Guitar and One with drums.

Main reason, I hate scratched DVDs and it's way too expensive for me to buy a new one with these insane prices so I thought I would just backup them, so far only one disk has been scratched through the whole time..., btw I can do whatever I want to my console, I have a right to take it apart then put it back together, change some parts of it and whatnot, though I guess modded firmwares are illegal no matter if you play legal or illegal games. But what I am going to do is get my self a rroded xbox and fix it up just like I did with this one, x-clamp ftw.

Sounds like he's in the same boat I was. I done some trading for a 360 back in July/August, and just a week ago I get banned. I had no idea why until I found out the DVD Drive was modded.

 

So I bidded and won a 360 on ebay, got it today. X-Clamped it like my last 360 that crapped (the modded one) and it works perfect now.

 

Then I have another one my friend gave me thats in need of a DVD Drive.

 

 

 

I cant say much about the NXE. I like the Avatars, but other than that, its not that great.

The NXE itself seems alright. I liked the old dash board a lot, and I'll probably grow to enjoy this one as well, mainly because I'm technically forced to learn to enjoy it, but that's besides the point. I became accustomed to the straight-forwardness of the old.

 

The Netflix update kinda makes up for it all, though. That feature, along with installing games to the HDD is worth the update. Now Microsoft needs to make a 200GB hard drive and not charge $200 for it (Their harddrives go for close to $1 a GB)
