Of course you guys haven't noticed anything wrong. You came when it was already ruined, so nothing appears to be wrong. Me? I've been here for like 1-2 years. I remember when /WD/ was good. People wrote quality stories and people actually gave feedback and never complained like little prepubescent kids. Then, from I don't know where, these new people started coming. Maybe it was GTA 4, I don't know, but it was definitely ruined. You guys will never, ever have my respect. Not after all the damage done. I remember coming on here, and seeing quality topics. Now, I'm greeted to fifty topics that are worthless and this, "Finish the Story", which is the cancer killing /WD/. We need to clean this place up.

Finish the Story is a good concept, if you don't like it don't read it, just ignore it and let people have their fun.

 

I would also suggest you be specific as to who you're calling out, because if you're talking about people like poikly then you're S.O.L if you think they're gonna stop just because you have an issue with it. It's not like this stuff is clogging up the WD with sh*t.

I agree. I am not a fan of people who judges stories by the way it is written. I have said this many times before and I must say it again for those aspiring writers out there. It's not the way the author writes the story, it's the story the author writes. I remember before I even joined this place, that this place was full of great stories. GTA stories, written in script-format. Cubanwhip's "The Conclusion" is a great example of a great GTA story written in script-format, as well as Tony Zimmzy's Heart City Trilogy. President Killer's "Decline of Liberty" has gotta be the greatest out of all. Also concerning me is the decline of GTA fanfics. Sure, it maybe stupid to use the same plotline over and over again such as the protagonists teaming up and what not, but this place had some of the best GTA fanfics around. Now, I see most users are against the GTA fanfics due to one of the topics I have read before. I know that /WD/ is place for a kinds of literature, but seeing no decent GTA fanfics around makes me sick to see. I would write some myself, but some of the best storylines have been taken already and I am not a writer that copies other's work. I know I have yet to post a story, but I know first-hand that I have the potential to write a decent one, no matter if it's script or narrative forms. Even with some grammar errors, I know that any story has some potential at being a must-read. Cubanwhip did it with "The Conclusion", TonyZimmzy did it with his "Heart City Trilogy, President Killer did with "Decline of Liberty", Blackadder did it with "Grand Theft Auto: Vercetti's Revenge", Sinful did it with "L.A.N.C.E." and "Made Man." I just had to say what I think must be said, and I know some of you maybe pissed off and all, but I know that good things come to their ends. Writer's Discussion is coming close to it's end by some stories that must be stopped. No offense to any of you. Do not post more than two stories, especially if you didn't finish them yet, and be as original as you can be.

I stuck with my others and they became sucessful, now try and do that for once aswell ya damn newfag.

Newfag to me is a writer who comes in, makes a dozen wank stories in the space of 4 days and quits half of 'em, leaving 'em all over the damn place, only to quit the others a week on.

 

Probaly different to young Roberto, as he hates you.

 

Oh, and also, thanks for the props HHH. I was a newbie writer when I first started in grammar terms so it's nice to know some people don't care about how a story is presented. I'm penning the third Heart City in my head.

Yeah, sure, "Finish the Story" has a decent concept, until you loose track. The story grows so fast and is updated so quickly, that, in the end, the only people reading are the people writing, no one can keep up with the constant updates.

 

Also, S.O.L? I think that's a mod for GTA VC. So you just called me a mod...which means...I rule. Also, I'm not the only one with this issue. Me and Tony always have discussions about how /WD/ has gone to sh*t and became a congregation of lousy stories with lousy concepts and just sh*t.

About your whole elitism thing, I was saying that you think that you should only post a story on here if you think it's good, which isn't the way it should be at all. People should be able to post their stories, regardless of skill, there's enough room.

Well, let's make a dictionary.

 

Newfag: Anyone new that posts hundreds of stories, to only discontinue over three fourths of them; someone who posts a story without even checking their grammar and not even trying to correct it; someone who posts a story and thinks they deserve a reply immediately; someone who never posts a chapter in their first post, but instead a two sentence summary that doesn't really say anything.

 

/WD/: The Writer's Discussion. Only to be used by people that actually respect it.

 

WD: Teh Righter's Diskussion. Newfag use only.

 

Oldschool: Anyone that has written a decent story and nothing that has polluted the forums.

 

Roberto: Me, Cubanwhip. Everyone knows that.

 

Cancer: Anything that attracts hordes of newfags to the forums and causes an increase in horrific stories.

 

Chemotherapy: Anything that tries to correct the cancer infecting /WD/.

Can't say I dissagree with you, Rob. I have nothing against someone trying to post a story; hell, I'd even encourage it. But if people don't have enough common sence to realize that the story is going to flop, then they shouldn't be in here. And yes, I realize I've had a few stories flop, so yes, this kind of makes me a hypocrite.

 

There are even some topics which started out with a great idea, but are turning out really bad. For example, the "Finish The Story" thread. Stories written by multiple people more often then not, fail, on many levels. Especially when you've got about twenty people. It's impossible to keep up with it, because one chapter will be talking about one thing, then the next goes completely off-topic.

 

I also hate these people who come in here, acting as though stories are sh*t, just because they're written in script format. Who cares? It's not the way the story's written, it's what happens in the story. I'd much rather read Heart City, or The Conclusion, then some 700-page book with absolutely no plot, and I'm damn sure there's not a single person in here who dissagrees.

 

And to those who thought I left (lookin' at you Tony), I never did. I stopped writing, yes, but I've been browsing here ever since. Not once have I logged in, and not checked on Writer's Discussion.
