Ring_of_Fire
Read the GTAForum's bugfix list in the "Troubleshooting" forum as well as Rockstar Support: http://www.rockstargames.com/support/req_s...tar_Games,gtavc

ELLIS1991
I had the same problem i found out that the only way to fix it is to reinstall the game.
Justin
I too get this but only when playing VCMP (like once every 15 minutes). I'll try the link you suggested ROF but I hope it isn't the same old "remove wheel mod" crap. :[ You shouldn't be posting here if your game is modded. This includes VC:MP. The GTA Series forums are for unmodded games. From my experience, most Unhandled Exception errors are indeed the result of modding, which means that a re-install should work. Borus
I've already removed the game several times, but I still get the error
VCHolmes
Did you follow this procedure? Uninstall the game. Delete the Installation folder (Default is "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA Vice City") to ensure that there are no leftover files. Reinstall the game. Now make a copy of this fresh installation, and use the copy to play VC:MP.

I've already tried this, and I removed also the GTA Vice City User Files in the map of My Documents I've also used Ccleaner and I just reinstalled my drivers Edited September 12, 2007 by Borus
Ring_of_Fire
Why aren't you reading the links I gave to you? Did you, or did not? Did it work? Try deleting [.set] file and run game in compatibility mode. Also, please read the bugfix list as well as the R* support website - it has a solution related to your problem. Ring_of_Fire
OK, assuming it's not VCMP or any other mod's fault, your problem is a driver/software issue. Apparently you did something to your machine which caused Vice City to not work anymore. Try System Restore. Hi, since a few days I can't open GTA Vice City any more Yeah, go and use Windows' XP/Vista System Restore and roll-back in time...
Borus
Try System Restore. Sry, no option... don't know when it went wrong, didn't play for 2 weeks or something and I've done to much since then For example: installed GTA San Andreas: can this have anything to do with the problem? Ring_of_Fire
You telling me you don't know where S. Restore is? Start menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore. And what OS you have anyway? Windows Me has a System Restore option, but not 98. If you are running 95/98, there are some bugfixes in the "ReadMe" file for GTA: Vice City. Check it out! Borus
I have Windows XP Media Center Edition And I do know where S. Restore is, but I don't know to which 'save point' I have to go But is it possible that GTA SA has something to do with it?
Ring_of_Fire
Just rollback to a date (savepoint) before the problem occurred. At least make the rollback/restore point be a month ago or so. Now try running Vice City. If doesn't work, there seems to be no other solution to your problem.

What does a system restore do in that case?
Ring_of_Fire
No you won't lose anything, plus you can undo the restoration point changes you had made. All you would have to do to is to reconfigure the settings. Possibly you may need to reinstall, but that'll be a flash!

Did it worked before? Well probably since you stated: "And everything I downloaded or saved after that date?" It's just stupid that System Restore didn't help or even the uninstallation/reinstallation of the entire game. Anyway, we are in the troubleshooting forum. Please tell us your systems specs and I'll go look up drivers.

Snakey_UK07
Try creating a folder called GTAVC or something making sure it has no spaces. Then when re-installing the game, direct it to that folder to install. When does the error appear also? loading game? duing or ......?
