Gooooooooooooooooool!!

That Edman goal was quality and it was against the 'pool aswell sad.gif . Although Alonso (i think) hit a screamer in the same match, two great goals in one match. icon14.gif

Carlos's two goals were great but i think the first one was by accident, but as for the second one that was one amazing free kick, pure Brazilian brilliance.

No way in my eyes was that a mistake, he really meant that.

Aside from every other goal I've mentioned in this topic, this is The greatest goal in history, he could've only scored in one spot, which was nye on impossible, and he found it.

edit: it seems this is only soccer, nevermind.

Yea, the boring sport. sleepy.gif

f*ck off. mad.gif

If there was a record with the most stopping and starting in a sport Amercian football would win by a lengh. Therefore most boring sport.

American football, basketball and baseball have millions of followers, but they can't match soccer for sheer excitement, says a team of scientists...

...American football came last on the list, and so was labelled the least exciting sport.

I'm not sure if I understand that article. They're looking at the "upset frequency" and basing how exciting a sport is on that?

Just because there have been more upsets in soccer than in other sports makes it the most exciting?

Any way on topic.

The Gerrard goal against my team at the F.A cup final in 2006 was amazing and heart breaking. I was at the match sitting behind in the corner flag on the front of the top tier above where Knochesky scored. with just 4 minutes of injury time to go that happened. cryani.gif but i have alot of respect for Liverpool now despite that i feel so lucky to have been at that match which was hailed as the best F.A cup final for 50 years. inlove.gif

I have particular respect for Gerrard beacause im a season ticket holder at West Ham and on the first day of the season 06-07 he wrote an article in the program thanking the West Ham fans who stayed to watch them lift the cup icon14.gif . That was a great match played in the right spirit but that didn't stop me from pretty much crying at the end. lol

Right, I'm bumping this up because of the ongoings in the footy desk. Instead of clustering up the footy desk with a mass amount of youtube videos, I figured it would be a good idea to bump this up so people can post there respective clubs favourite goals, instead of posting just the one in the footy desk. After all, that is what this topic is for. Credit goes to ET for the idea. The general idea of this topic applies, if you want to post any great goal, or any faourite goal of yours feel free. Perhaps your top five premiership goals?

And Seddo, feel free to post a thpousand pages of your faourite Liverpool goals if you need be! tounge.gif

I'll post a shortlist of mine later on, off to work soon and haven't the time to search them all out.

My shortlist-

Jonny Metgod free kick

Fantastic thunderbolt, no bollocks, just a full on smash. Quality!

Stuart Pearce free kick

Amazing left footed free kick from all of 35 yards against Manchester United.

Marlon king

I went to the City ground to watch this game, the atmosphere was awesome. It was 2-2, an table toppers West Ham were on course to earn a point, up until Marlon King stepped up to the plate, nestling this sweet shot into the top corner in the dying seconds of the game.

Stan Collymore

Trevor Francis header in the 1979 European cup final

Fantastic occasion, one which my dad was lucky enough to witness.

There are also many goals I can remember and stay in my head as favourites that I cannot provide videos for. These include-

  • David Johnson's 30 yard screamer in the play-off semi final against Sheffield United. Really set the game up for a tense encounter, and had me going crazy. Was short lived though. sad.gif
  • Darren Huckerby volley. I can't remember who this was against, but the volley was as crisp and sweet as you could get, right into the top corner. A game I watched on sky sports, was worth it.
  • John Robertson versus Derby County in 1977. Newly promoted Nottingham Forest played Derby in the league and absolutely annihilated them 3-0. It really shown how good Forest were, and definitely established them as league contenders, to which they lived up to. I can vividly remember the goal. Tony woodcock instrumentally chased down a lost ball from a long ball from Kenny Burns I think. He somehow (I really don't know how) beat Derby's left back to the ball, ran into the box, wrong footed a couple of players and managed to get a shot in which ricocheted off a Derby player to John Robertson's feet. He then manouvred the ball and poked in a wrong footed stab into the bottom right hand corner to make it 3-0. The momentum Forest possessed and the atmosphere that goal created was truly sublime. The commentator was astounded, as was I. Against Derby as well only makes it that bit more special.
  • Ian Woan free kick. Forest had a free kick on the left side of the 18 yard box. It was closer to the corer flag so everybody expected Ian Woan to whip the ball into the box. They were deceived. He majestically curled the ball around the two man wall, over the keeper's head and into the top left hand corner, to everybody's disbelief.

There are more, namely John Robertson's European cup final winner, and I'll more than likely update this as time progresses.

Some of my favourite goals:

Romário - Flamengo

I like this one because of the move he executed on Amaral (the defender) doing what we call the Elástico, and then finishing with class towards the goal.

Marco Van Basten - Ajax

What can I say? Very nice play, and a magnificent finishing by the dutchman.

Ronaldo - Barcelona

Don't really need to comment eh? The sheer speed he had and skill with the ball.. Amazing.

Dennis Bergkamp - Netherlands

Beautiful pass by Frank de Boer and a superb display of skill by the Iceman Dennis Bergkamp.

Was a quality goal that and that's the move that Ronaldinho uses pretty often now, i see where he got it from tounge.gif.

I'll post my videos later on.

kietotheworld

Poor quality video but this is majestic

Also, Ronaldo's free kick against Portsmouth was described as the best the Premiership has ever seen. I'd raise you this

EDIT: Is that the GTA IV music being played in the background of Rochemback's?
