Kanye West vs. 50 Cent on 106&Park!

Recommended Posts

Because he's absolutely terrible. Kind of like The Game.  dozingoff.gif

Hey man, you can knock 50, he is pretty sh*t but not The Game.

You're kidding right? Game is asswack.

How can you not like the Game? But you like Snoop Dogg right? The best songs 50 ever did were either with Game' or Snoop'

P.S. I don't like 50 that much so you can stop telling me why you guys hate him.

I don't care for Snoop.

Look, Snoop, Dre, Tupac, etc were all good rappers. What I hate is how I get the same damn answers whenever I ask for great rappers. They basically say what any major music channel tells them is a great rapper from the 90's. I guess what I'm trying to say is, yes, they were great. But you only know that because MTV or BET mentions them. There WERE greater and better rappers out there. Stop pointing out the usual suspects.

Look deeper into rap and give me an answer I haven't heard a million times before yawn.gif .

Yeah, I'm not making much sense here.

Anyways, Snoop is kinda boring nowadays. HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT ABOUT THE GREATEST RAPPER EVER oh shut up I could probably find some better ones if I knew an ounce of Hip Hop culture. I'd take Kool G Rap over him anyday, or Slick Rick.

*Think About It

*Snoop's Upside Yo' Head

I don't believe you guys don't like Snoop'

I used to like Snoop's music a lot back in the 90s. I still like his persona, but he has bought into his own image way too much. When he started making American Express commercials and sh*t, and having his own TV shows, he just became way too marketable to be the same Snoop.

You've brought up that point a few times already, and I'd like to know, who your favorite artists are. I can also recognize talent no matter what a popular media outlet tells me.

I don't care much for Snoop, except for his older work, obviously. I agree his persona still makes him one of the most likeable icons, but besides that he hasn't brought a whole lot to the table when it comes to his rhymes. (I do see the irony as well, since I used to have a Snoop avy).

I don't believe you guys don't like Snoop'

I know

Source said he was one of the greatest rappers ever so it's impossible for us to dislike him.

seriously though, why is it that hard to believe? Is it because he's some sort of rap god to you or something? Everyone has different tastes. Personally, I don't hate him. But I am somewhat tired of the whole ___zzle weed smoking "90's mack" persona.

truth

I don't really have favorite artists per se. My library might consist of only one song from an artist and that's it. See, I'm not really a huge music fanatic, my library has less than 300 songs. But Wu Tang, Above The Law, Bone Thugs N Harmony, and recently, Kool G Rap seem to take quite a few slots.

I might hear a song and if I'm somewhat interested I might check out the album. Or if I'm getting interested on an artist I might check out their albums.

Well I'm an old head so I liked Snoop back in the day. Always thought he played off Slick Rick way too hard....kind of how jaRule tried to pimp Pac's image. As 40 said, his overall persona is pretty entertaining...he's a funny dude. Decent rapper w/ smooth flow but his later sh*t is too commercialized.... top40 neptunes bullsh*t.

Besides he should be damn there ready to collect social security. I was like 12 when this dude came out and I'm damn there 30 now. Which brings me too another thing that is just sad in mainstream hiphop today....all these ancient fossilized rappers out there trying to shake the tree one last time for a quick buck...like LL Cool J....I mean wtf dude keep to acting and realize your old enough to be alot of these young dude's father...which means one thing....it is definitely time to stop acting like a hard ass and put the mic down....christ.

Don't knock him, he gave me a nice line in a track I did a few years ago, something along the lines of "Bitch got me headsprung like LL"

You lot all think I only listen to Snoop and Game because they're on Channel[V] or MTV but I genuenly think they're good I don't need some blonde american chick with pig tails to tell me what I will and will not listen to and I don't need you guys to do so either. I do like some underground rap and some mainstream. Yous think that all mainstream sounds the same well so does alot of underground stuff. I will give you that Lil Bow Wow, Chingy, Jermain Dupri' & Nelly are the same and so are all of G-Unit and Black Wall Street ect.

Besides he should be damn there ready to collect social security. I was like 12 when this dude came out and I'm damn there 30 now.

Snoop is 33.

The main reason I like Snoop Dogg is that he is allways stoned when he sings.

Snoop hasn't brought a whole lot to the table when it comes to his rhymes.

As far as that goes:

Yous think that all mainstream sounds the same

Nah, some mainstream artists sound alright

Isn't Nas somewhat mainstream?

and to be honest, compared to other rappers nowadays, I think Game is one of the better mainstream ones. I wouldn't call him amazing, but by comparison, he's not so bad.

and Snoop is gonna be 36 this year

Gta Master.

Not sure why everybodys talkin bout Snoop, cuz I coulda swore tha title said "Kanye West vs. 50 Cent" But um...yeah. Since thats what tha topic title is I thought everybody should read this. (Not sure if someone already posted, too lazy to look back thru the pages)

50 Cent Retires; Declares War against Def Jam & Roc-A-Fella

50 Cent is facing retirement after being beaten by rival Kanye West in the pair's chart battle. Early in September, 50 told hip-hop web site SOHH.COM the following, “If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I’ll no longer write music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out anymore solo albums.” After the loss, 50 Cent now confirms to follow through with his word.

"I should of said if Kanye West sells more period that I would retire, not first week. When Interscope f--ked up the very beginning of my project, I should of let that be an indication that I wouldn't be coming out at my very best. I'm a priority at that label so I couldn't even imagine them f--king my project up that badly. They dropped the ball on everything."

When asked if the animosity towards Kanye West and Def Jam was gone, Curtis, which is 50 Cent's real name, responds, "It's not over. Ill keep my word [to retire]. But I declare this war. Every release date Def Jam sets - let me raise the stakes - and Roc-A-Fella Records sets, I will put something up on G-Unit against it. I've already started to lock and load on G-Unit. Everybody I got right now can go against Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella, and I will make sure everybody over there gets destroyed. You need to understand something - If I couldn't take out Kanye first week, fine. That was the last time. Next week and every other week from now on is mine. I will not only take out Kayne, but all the other members of Roc-A-Fella and everyone else on Def Jam under Jay-Z. The war starts first quarter. Ill give them n--gas time to catch up. This is round two. I'm going to K-O in every round and not stop till the bell rings at the end of 12 rounds.

50 Cent claims that every artist on G-Unit could go head-to-head with everyone on Roc-A-Fella. Could that imply a war between the two owners of such labels? Could the war between 'Kanye West vs. 50 Cent' turn into 'Jay-Z vs. 50 Cent'? "Man, I'm already taking s--t from Jay. He was about to sign this female singer to Roc-A-Fella and I came in and took her from right under him. I started a bidding war. [i Get Money] is real, man. Her name is Keshia Chante, she like 19 years old. She got that hunger in her too, man. It didn't take that much more money for her to come with me. Real recognize real and she knew Jay wasn't where she needed to be. Everybody is ready. Yayo is, Young Buck is ready, Lloyd Banks is, Mobb Deep is ready, Hot Rod, we returning heavy." You can see the venom in 50 Cent's eyes, he's vicious, angry but rich. He continues "He's [Jay-Z] a business man. I'm a business man. I respect him as a business man but sometimes his hustle is crooked. I got him on my single I Get Money [see the "I Get Money (Billionaire's Remix)" article]. By doing that he was adding himself to my side. He did good by me. The record hits hard in the streets and in the clubs, but he helped the opponent. You think Dre or Eminem would ever do anything with Murder Inc.? Nas? Cam'ron? Nah man. That's the wrong side of the field. Our loyalty is right."

50 Cent knows he lost Round 1, and even when he touches the thought of losing, you can see that he is still in denial. He says he's going for 11 more rounds but if I understand correctly, losing by over more than 250,000 in album sales is what they call in the boxing ring a 'knockout'. I'm sure his new best friend, professional boxer Floyd Mayweather, can teach him that after being knocked out, there isn't a round 2.

Fortunately, for the competitive hip-hop industry and 50, rules are meant to be broken. There's nothing like a good fight.

I asked if you smoke weed to see if you would understand what it does to you.

It is mostly is voice, but why do you think all of 213 and tha dogg pound have the same sort of tone.

Yes. I imagine he's a bit high when he records it, but not from a bong then he'd keep laughing and walking out the booth every few minutes to tell Dr Dre how round his head is lol.gif .
