The online was great, there was only a few laggy sessions other than that it ran fine for me, shame i was sh*t though, i blame everyones weapon upgrades compared to mine nil upgrades.

 

Can't wait to get that little (red dot on weapon scope) upgrade, every time i got killed it was always by someone with the red scope.

I know for sure that this is one of the most optimised game I saw this year. I can play it on low-medium on a 6800 XT and still have 40-60 FPS.

 

is it true that the game is capped at 60 FPS to prevent the same stuff as in CoD2?

Oh my f*cking god.

 

How f*cking awesome was that mission 'All Ghillied Up', the way the camouflage actually blended in with it's surroundings unlike other games.

 

Then the way you popped off each enemy and hearing the sweet sound of the sniper. Then an awesome bit of the level, the way you had to dodge all those men aswell as the tanks that was extreme fun and fear, i was inches away from getting crushed from the tank and if i had of moved the men would of seen me, pure suspense.

 

Then the way you had to follow Captain MacMilllan through all those enemys it was amazing. Then finally getting your hands on that SOB of a sniper rifle and when you had to wait for the wind to blow in the correct direction so you could snipe Platty Imran Zakaev, was immense

 

Best f*cking level/mission in a game for ages.

That grenade was the single greatest event I've witnessed in my online gaming history. It may have been more than 4 because they only fit the last four kills on I think. We won the game by 3 kills thanks to that nade. Funny t hear all the Americans (was 4:30am for us) whining about it on the other team while the guys on our team were in awe.

 

I was stood behind you as you did it was laughing because you even said it was going to happen.

Best single player campaign, ever. So much effort and attention to detail gone into it, I didn't even think it was possible for a game to be this good. It's pretty damn short, but in terms of replay value it's a winner.

Still going on Veteran, just completed Act I. That's how slow I am.

 

Getting so frustrated with the long checkpoints, have just cleared the 2nd of 4 houses to clear on the first of Act II (the one where you're looking for Al-Asad as the SAS), and there's a really long-winded method I'm employing the get to the 3rd house, but I keep getting sent all the way back if I die. Argh.

 

Fantastic game.

I'm playing on the PC and omg the nades are flying everywhere on multiplayer! Only fiddled with multi a lil bit so far. Any server you lot play on a lot now or just randoming?

The M21 sniper rifle is based on the M14 and is a real weapon. The only weapons brought back from WW2 are the MP44 and a modern version of the M1911.

Woah, you've completed it? I thought you were playing on Veteran difficulty and you've completed in like 6 hours, it can't be all that hard like everyones making it out to be then.

Nahh, it was piss hard and I sacrificed the 'whoo completed it on veteran' for finding out the story.

 

Switched to a different difficulty (regular or hardened I think) at the beginning of Act II and then continued.

8800GTS

Athlon 64 6000+

2GB DDR2 RAM

 

and a 19" widescreen monitor for that resolution. Actually, here:

 

 

Currently completing the single player on Veteran, though I'm only at the part with the TV station.. Single player games start boring me quickly, but this is great. Been playing multiplayer down in GTW though on LAN, and God, it's great craic.

The only lame part about the CoD4 multiplayer is that all the people that have been hammering the game since it came out have all the decent weapon upgrades like the ACOG scope, every time i die, it's always by someone with that and since i'm pretty new to the multiplayer i have no weapon upgrades yet so i'm starting off at a bit of a disadvantage.

 

Other than that though, this game is awesome online.

Is anybody else having problems playing online like I am? I've got a handful of issues:

 

A) Every time I try to connect to somebody who invites me, it always says that my playlist is out of date and I must restart Live or the console to connect. Well, I always do both and I still can't connect, it gives me the same message.

 

B) When I go to Live and "find a match", EVERY TIME it starts the match it will go for about 5 seconds and then it will say "Host has quit the match" EVERY TIME.

 

If anybody has some advice or tips, let me know. I know Multiplayer is a highlight of this game and I'd like to start churning games out to boost my level.

Go into the Multiplayer section first, then accept the invite. If that doesn't work to into Multiplayer then Xbox Live and your own lobby, then accept.

 

And M16s are way too powerful now. Nearly everyone uses them. I managed to get a 10 kill streak using one. Hope they nerf it, fix the joining from outside of Multiplayer bug and stabilize the whole multiplayer. Since alot of the times it has a hissy fit, especially with parties.

Unfortunately, no.. heh. I'm just using a downloaded CoD4 with my CoD2 CD key until I get it.. They're valid for CoD4 but don't allow you online (says key code in use).

 

£25 isn't a bad price for it though.

I played through the entire time during the Beta. I pretty much got sick of the game and haven't bought it yet since it came out.
