I am the only person who doesn't use an MP5. I'm serious, look on the ground after a kill or watch the notifications in the corner of your screen. It's going to be mostly MP5s. Nobody bothers to aim with those ridiculously overpowered weapons. Point in the diretion of your enemy and spray until they die. No skill required, this is worse than the LMGs.

Its because the MP5 is the best gun on the game.

 

CQB it rocks, medium range is perfect in burst and long range I've managed to single shot a few people with it. Its just generally awesome.

Oh no i mean on the forums. Everyone like 40, Daz and TEos etc, they are all on XBL i think. and im pretty sure many others are. I dont see many peole talking about the PSN thats all.

Here are some problems i have with this game

 

1. Loads of Connection problems every now or then like the huge Xbox Live thing two weeks ago.

2. 5 classes isn't enough. You need at least 10.

3. There will always be two or three perks you need for a gun, but you can only choose one. Picking 1 = Pressure

4. Juggernaut is a bitch

5. Glitches with airstrikes especially in alley ways or tight areas.

6. People with ghillie suites should not be able to get killed by a helicoptor if there in prone.

7. Not enough Captain Macmillan in the Storyline.

8. If you were going to bring back a WW2 weapon, why would you bring back the MP44. Why not the PPSH (a more deadlier gun)

9. You should be able to set up snipers in windows like in Crossfire, and they should be more accurate when in Prone.

10. More rewards for kill streaks like Stingers, Dogs, Whole Map Airstrike or something like that would've been nice.

11. The ability to host a game and choose your map like Treyarch (im not a fan of them) did with COD3 would've been nice. Although matchmaking aint bad.

12. Shipment is such a rare map to get into, and its the best map.

13. Medics would've been nice. It was fun in COD3 to be a medic.

14. Better level maps could've been used for Multiplayer like Blackout, and Heat instead of the Bog and Countdown

2. Agree, there should be a way to edit the 5 defaults, or at least a way to grab a gun that isn't in a class while in mid-round. Sometimes I'll want a gun that I haven't set in any class and I can't get to it until afterward.

4. Play Hardcore mode and Juggernaut becomes mostly irrelevant.

5. I hate the airstrikes and heli in general. I wish you could turn them off sometimes.

6. Sorta agree, but don't really think it happens that often unless you're a snipe whore.

8. I think the MP44 is sort of a joke gun. It's terrible and you don't unlock it until like level 44.

10. I wish it was harder to get airstrikes and helis. Maybe 10+ kill streaks or something.

12. Shipment is total chaos. There's no flow to it, just a tiny box with lots of people. Not really a fan

I'm on rank 53 atm, and I've decided to do the gun challenges. The head shot challenges are so annoying, I swear I've had far more than 25 head shots with the AK-47 but it doesn't seem to think so.

lol I use the MP5 regularly. Not because it's so strong...never really noticed that, but because I'm good with it. I also use the Saw, and the shotgun, don't remember the name. I didnt start using the saw until I got Sleight of hand.

 

 

@Carbine: Yeh dogs would have been great. Seriously they should have used those. Keeps people on their toes and snipers can't hide forever. Also about the helicopter, if you lay down in prone position with the ghilly and don't move the heli won't see you, but if you shoot it'll shoot at you. I did something like this yesterday, my friend was sniping right next to me and the heli shot him down and I just watched.

I did something like this yesterday, my friend was sniping right next to me and the heli shot him down and I just watched.

Oh, i didn't know you can do that with the Ghillie Suits. But other then that, they need to blend it in more with the environment a little more like in the beginning of "All Ghillied Up". I could see a change in Green Color when one of them is prone on the ground in Overgrown.

 

Now here's a list of things i Really Like about COD4

 

1. Blood in Multiplayer

2. Streak Bonuses with helicoptors and airstrikes are cool ideas.

3. Maps are decent, but a few are really bad

4. Perks are fun to use

5. Ragdoll Effects are insanely cool, and a big step up from COD2.

6. Martydome is f***Ing awesome

7. Captain Macmillan is the best character ever created in Video Game Histroy.

8. Major SPOILER: The "Aftermath" mission was epic and powerful, and makes you think of the consequences of that happening in real life.

9. Shooting through walls and objects is really cool and makes the game more challenging.

10. 18 Player Multiplayer on Ground Wars is Intense

11. Maps are the right sizes for any game with any game 6 players and up.

12. Achievements are only for single-player (Most multiplayer achievements are Ranked Matches)

13. Graphics are insane

14. Shipment (I'm sorry 40ozFreak but that map is insane)

15. When the enemy calls upon a helicoptor, you feel a sense of fear and you know you have to hide.

16. Bloodier and Gruesome then past COD's.

 

Add Ons to the "I hate" list:

1. Storyline is nowhere near as replayable as Call of Duty 2's was.

I'm leaning more towards the SAW and M60 as opposed to the MP5 which I used to use and now pretty much suck with it. However, can anyone vouch for the G36C? I'm just a level away from unlocking it and have heard it does a better job than the MP5.

I just had my first game in Shipment, it was Domination.

 

Christ, what a hell-hole that map is.

I think I went 27-30. I'd literally spawn on top of a flash grenade + frag grenade. Then I'd die.

Most people generally like Shipment because they had a lucky game or two where they killed 6 people with an airstrike and then kill another 10 with a chopper.

 

I sometimes use a G3 with a silencer and stopping power.

I can no-scope people in the face with an M21 from 10-15 feet, it's just that middle to long range where a second weapon comes in handy.

Some of the maps are truly horrible: Bog, Wet Works, Showdown (the least bad of the bad). Talk about cheap spamfests. No strategy or flow, just a big open space in the middle with various cover around the edges. Also, why the f*ck are there airstrikes and helicopters on Wet Works? It's a boat that's floating in the ocean. Wouldn't it sink?

RPD with grip is a heavenly thing. One-shot headshot from far away on Ambush. It always works.

M16 is the uber-weapon.

The M16 is alright. Daz would tell you he hates it because he feels it's a spam weapon, but in actuality it's a pretty solid rifle. I can see where he's coming from though.

 

The M16 has great range and power, and in many cases you can point-aim-click and kill someone with one touch and let the triple burst do the work for you. If someone is running, you can lead them a inch or so, pop it, and let the bullet stream take em out mid stride. I do get tired of it though, and it's a horrible weapon for clearing out multiple guys with.

 

The RPD is beautiful but I get tired of the slow movement.

I used to be a huge fan of the G3 actually. When I originally unlocked it I kept using that sh*t like it was an automatic. So I said, "alright, I haven't really used this weapon - let's give it a chance." I threw the Stopping Power on it + Bandolier and it worked wonders. Unfortunately I basically stopped as a lot of my opponents were getting the 1-up on me since mine was a single shot and not an automatic assault rifle, even if I did spas my finger on the trigger making it almost an auto.

 

@40: Yeah dude, I love the M16 for ranged combat and with the double tap makes it awesome but for some of those surprise close encounters, it's horrendous. Since you can't really control the bursts, if you don't get the jump on them, you're finished.

 

That has been my weapon of choice lately though. I've stopped jumping around with my clases mid-fight as I've found the M16 + red dot sight + double tap to be EXTREMELY effective for all encounters.

About the H&K G3 and M14, in reality they are both full auto rifles, but not in this game.

 

And whoever want the M14 before you unlock it? Use the M21 same weapon but with a magnification sight..

Umm am I the only one getting the Activision match-maker error 33? It may just be my disk scratched or something or it may be something to do with the online play, I'm not sure, but I was just wondering if anyone else is getting this? It's really quite annoying.

ive been going MP5 with red dot, band, juggernaut, and maytr as of late, and it's wonderful.

I have to dissagree with some of those numbers, Carbine23.

 

 

-Perks RUIN the game, it turns the game into a rock paper scissors game, only instead of 3 things there are 20 and the main ones such as martydom, last stand and such overpower most and most players stick with that so most of the time you are either going to have to also use those or use something else and get raped.

 

-Martydom is horrible, its such a cheap kill, no skill envolved from the user unlike last stand ( which I hate just as much, especially in hardcore as they are invincible for a split second which gives them that advantage to shoot 2 bullets and kill you before you can shoot them with that one bullet to hit them, even though you are spamming the whole mag at them.) Its only used for people who cant kill without it, and just want kills, not playing for fun just for score and kills.

 

 

-Shooting through objects, VERY annoying. You get killed through a solid concrete wall, or a guy hops on the emplaced machine gun and shoots you with one bullet through 7+ buildings from all the way down the map. Light things are fine such as tin fences and door and window frames but not things like massive rocks and tanks I mean come on. And I have been shot through a wooden box with a deagle before, the only thing that should go through are assault rifles machine guns and sniper rifles, and the P90, everything else shouldnt. Very irritating.

 

 

-Map sizes are way too small, fine for 4v4 or so, but 6v6 and 9v9 its way too small, and most of the time you can be seen from one spot which really helps the campers out. And even though there are alot of flanking paths round maps and multiple entrances, that ruins things for realistic gameplay, you ALWAYS get shot in the back or side, especially combined with the horrible respawns, you rarely ever meet people head on, if you do, you end up being killed straight after in the back or side. There are no choke points that force kills in one certain area.

 

 

-Shipment is lame, there might be a different play style and quick action and maybe some enjoyment. But honestly you are either going to kill loads or get killed loads. It plays in a circle, there is no main choke point its basically semetrical, so everyone just runs round in circles, and the stragglers get destroyed. Unless you camp in the one of few safe spots you arent going to rack up any kills. Yeah big woop a lot of kills, but if you actually played better in normal maps you can kill loads and actually survive. On shipment there is no way to get a decent kill streak, someone is always going to find you, and that grinds on my mind, I like keeping myself safe by sprinting around all the time and keeping on the move which you cant do in shipment as you are boxed in.

 

 

 

 

The game has too many unbalances, they tried to make it balanced but the ended up making it totally f*cked up. The perks ruined the game, and how hard is it just to make hardcore a propper realistic mode, with no perks, no air support, 1-3 shot bullet kills with ANY weapon, making them all effective, and actual propper teamwork and sneaking, how you would in real life, way more fun and would make a much better change than how it is now.
