Midnight Club: Los Angeles

A game I'll most definitely pick up when I get a next genner. Looks rather nice so far. LA looks stunning. Good to see they've added more emblematic cars such as the Mustang. I hope the radio feels a lot more segmented (having stations split up by genre GTA-style would be lovely) and generally improves.

Wow, it looks amazing. I hope they remake L.A. as good as they did Liberty City. I was somewhat dissapointed with Midnight Club 2's rendition of LA.

The game looks sick. And i think they are going the Juiced 2 road when it comes to making your character

Wow, LA looks like it's will be a competitor for the mighty GTA IV. Very slick.

Will definately be picking up this on release.

You know its good to see that the RAGE engine is capable of producing the ambiance required for a Los Angeles based city, something other then the grey and dark vibe of Liberty City or New York. I just hope the frame-rate issues from GTA IV are present, for GTA its fine but when you are dealing with a non-stop racing game you need smooth framerates.

Yeah, but at least we aren't going to have that damned, 4, crappy looking, low poly models we have seen in the past. Finally, more realistic cars in traffic.

I can't wait for this game.I'll probably get it because it comes out near my birthday. Now that I think of it,a lot of Rockstar games come out in October.

So are they using the same car physics as GTA IV or is it custom made for ease of drifting etc.?

GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas were all done with Renderware, and they didn't have the same ambience. And certainly you mean absent, in that last sentence?

My guess would be they made it completley from scratch but more akin to Midnight Club 3 than GTA IV. Has that arcadey touch so you can slide around corners at breakneck speeds.

Looking back at it, I'm not exactly sure why they showed a car crash up close, considering that the cars still have the same damage model from DUB Edition (Few scratches, hood pops up a bit, broken windows).

This game is going to be pretty damn nasty. It's still being backed by Dub magazine so mostly all of the cutomization is still there. Also you can customize interiors, and sell or give your designs to other people. I seriously cannot wait for this to com out.

Blackadder.

Customization even goes down to your doors, and with the online craze of this generation of consoles, you can expect some pretty stupid designs on XBL/PSN.

Speaking of which, hopefully they have a feature where you can take a picture of your car and upload it to your account on the Social Club.

That would be pretty damn nice. Also a replay feature where you can save clips would be nasty. I can see this game being a Must Have.

Saw the trailer for it the other day (thanks, R* mailing list!). Looks absolutely brilliant... I'm definitely putting this high up on my "ZOMG" list.

GTA IV brought back my love for racing games, so jumping into Midnight Club is the obvious next step. icon14.gif

What I meant though is Renderware was able to produce the darker and gritty Liberty City, the bright and sunny Vice City, and the smoggy Los Santos, foggy San Fierro, and dusty Las Venturas featured in San Andreas. I was merely saying its good to see that RAGE can offer the same ability to create different ambiance.

Sure, okay. I'm still baffled about that last sentence of yours, though. You want frame rate issues?

Is this game like test drive with free roam or NFS?

It's more like test drive except the races aren't as linear. Instead of following a track, your driving to certain checkpoints and it's up to you to find the fastest way. It's usually easier to follow the CPU for a while. Also there are races where you can get the checkpoints in any order you want but there is also usually a best route. This game is best described as Test Drive with more freedom. Also the car customization is just nasty..

If you want to get a taste of how it is going to be (a SMALL taste) then you could pick up Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition, only thing is that it isn't supported for play on the xbox360.. sad.gif

Well I'm getting this game for two reasons:

1. It's like TDU.

2. It's Midnight Club, nuff said.

Isn't it fairly obvious what I meant? I obviously missed the n't in aren't.

Nope......except for a few hours at 2004. moto_whistle.gif

Honestly I'm a PC gamer, and has always been since the age of 3(Yeah I started playing games at the age of 3)

So I never got around console controllers and how they work.

Oh yeah I understand, I am the same way just with consoles. Been a console gamer ever since I could remember and I fail at computer games. The controls are just beyond me.
