Dazed 0
I have recently downloaded GTA 2 from Rockstar's website. I really liked playing this game that years ago, I created a trainer for the demo version of GTA 2 to disable the time limit. =) My problem is my machine is having some issues with the frame rate limiter. With it on, the gameplay is not very smooth but the gameplay speed is just normal. When I turn it off, the gameplay becomes smooth, but the game speed becomes very fast, probably 3-4x faster than the normal game speed which it makes it unplayable. I have an ATI Express 200M card (128MB Shared memory), 1.7 GHZ Celeron M, and 1256MB of RAM. I don't think my system is the problem, as it plays more resource demanding games like Warcraft III and CS:Condition Zero with acceptable frame rates. I also have the latest drivers for my video card. Does anyone know of a fix/workaround for this? Edit: My OS is Windows XP with SP2. Edited August 17, 2007 by Dazed
Sektor 107
In the registry there are two GTA2 frame rate settings (if not, add them). I would try setting them both to 1 but if that doesn't work, try other combinations. I don't know what min_frame_rate does but some have said it helped. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\dma design ltd\gta2\Screen min_frame_rate = 1 max_frame_rate = 1 Edited August 18, 2007 by Sektor
