FORESIGHT NANOTECH INSTITUTE

Now with so many people getting worked up and aurguing over the possiblities of technology and how soon things are likely to take place I would like to mention that the majority opinion is often incorrect historically speaking.

Maybe it is because people are morons or easily stuck on the status quo yet the people at this place are serious and the things they are talking about are not just pipe dreams but projects that are under way with universities involved with them and others with similar agenda's all over the world.

Now I am not jumping to any theory of conspiracy or anything. Yet I know the Nanodot technology has been underway for over a decade with participating universities that trade with the project coordinators exchanging work on the building of nanotech that replicates for the knowledge and training for students who learn the skills.

Here is a link to their website.

What the f*ck are we supposed to be talking about?

What do you think of the organization in the Topic name?

Why?

Any other personal insights into the areas of technology they are invested in would be great.

Hence the Terms"Research and Discuss"

nanotech in medicine, sounds sci-fi being made possible tounge.gif

imagine no one ever having to wear glasses again, everyone having perfect skin condition, etc. etc.

what colour do you want your babies eyes? in 20 years you will be able to with stem cell research. the technology is here, but it will be a while before its introduced into the market. any thing you want to modify your baby to be, it can be controlled. hair, eyes, body size, make sure its not allergic to everything. get the point? this sh*t is real and not made up bullsh*t. how the f*ck can some people be so f*ckin stupid and think oh its a conspiracy! just look its out there!

Like I said, I am not going there but the radicals are jumping the wagon again.

I know it is out there and have even known some students to work with the Nanodot technology materials.

I refuse to jump to conclusions about things like this, myself.

If it wasn't for innovations this last century in medicine I wouldn't be alive today and neither would 10% of industrialized nations and that is just from insulin alone.

Like I said maybe they are just morons.

Maybe they don't realize that the status quo isn't stable because it isn't supposed to be yet they hammer like it should stay "The Way They Think It Is" even thoughj most really don't have any idea about their own status quo but pay people that tell them what they want to hear.

You can already splice out one eye color for another. Not with a 100% guarantee that it will take, because there are still some genes for eye color loci for which are unknown, but in most cases, you'd be able to swap one common collor for anoter. You can almost do the procedure at home with some basic training in gene splicing and DNA replication. The hardest part is keeping it sterile. Hell of a "... for Dummies" book that would make, eh? The problem is in then getting the new genome to produce a human. That, essentially, is the problem of human cloning, and being illegal in most places, isn't researched well enough.

Good way to circumvent that would be to attempt to splice the genes on gametocytes, letting them produce gametes, and then going in vitro. The only question is will disturbed gametocytes produce healthy gametes capable of starting fertilization process properly.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

taboo is a major hurdle for science to progress tounge.gif

people and the church aren't ready to grasp the potential technology and medicine has to offer~

Actually the medicine end is intriguing indeed yet I am equally interested in the other aspects of nanotech that are being accomplished including the Nanotech Floating Cities that Japan is so eager for and the steps toward a powerful AI that the rave is about.

floating cities seems more "possible" imo than underwater cities (on a current tech and spending value), cities and water have become a favorite staple in Japanese sci fi~ has something to do with the ocean and it's symbolism for infinity I guess

makes me wonder if this half of the new century would allow me to see science fiction concepts/ideas bear fruitation into reality tounge2.gif

More than just the design of the "Floating Cities" has already been accomplished the Nanodots have already been in manufacture for over a decade for these cities. Developed, manufactored and prepaid for.....Illinois State University and many others world wide have been involved with things of this nature for a long time. Getting Universities to make them for you reduces the cost in exchange for teaching the skills and knowledge behind a tech. The more universities the better and this has been very well planned and spans the industrial globe.
