Indeed, but mounting a machine gun takes much time. Vito is a mafioso, not a WW2 soldier.

But isn't he is an ex-WWII soldier? Anyway there is nowhere to mount it. Well since it will be in the middle of city and the middle of mafioso war there will be no time to mount it.

It looks like in the 2nd trailer, our main character is a bit of a playboy(ala Scott Baio/Tony Soprano/Hugh Hefner all rolled into one). So I guess he is married at this point and still a cheat? Just wondering, though, since he looks like he aged in this and I guess he still a flirt. In the original Mafia, while Thomas does admit he had a lot of girls in his life before, he actually officially became a family man with Sarah.

Well they did say that the game has no HUD.Makes the game a bit challenging, no?

Well they won't have just removed it, they will make it so you simply don't need it. I have no idea how, but they have amazing ideas and they've been at it for 5 years so I think whatever it is, they will have done it just right . I'd prefer to have no HUD anyway, they are big and ugly and with a game as beautiful as Mafia 2, it would just spoil the graphics. So many times in IV have I just turned it off because it made the game look so much better.

Yep, Autumn 2009, sounds good doesn't it .

This is a game that I have waited too long for, for it to be rushed, I just want them to take their time and produce a masterpiece.

The Getaway had no HUD, took a while to get used to but it was great not having a HUD, gave it a more realistic feel. By the way, what are the Autum months in the Nothern Hemisphere?

Basically August through October/November.

Games that are set to be released in fall area usually released in October for some reason, at least the main headline games seem to be.

Yeah, finally snow in Mafia II. GTA needs to update to snow, you know.

 

So I guess in that trailer with his mother, he has to be in his late 30s-early 40s. He looks much older there. My guess is that your character can age faster than a car. I still get compliments that look 18 years old than my actual age: 25. That's one of the funniest things about age. A person that look younger than their actual age. Everyone knows the movie, Bugsy Malone? An Alan Parker film with kids imitating sing voices from adults who did the songs and the story is based on 1920s-1930s gang flicks with kiddie humor. Well, Scott Baio looked like he was 11 or 12, but he was really 15 years old! I guess that's what age can do to you. It's like the Michael Jackson/Ralph Macchio syndrome I have. Oh, well......some people can live with it, I guess.

The first trailer and some earlier screenshots are still pre-renders, but the second trailer has included ingame cutscenes and gameplay. Note the lower poly models and lower textures resolution in the second trailer. The consoles won't be able to run it smoothly on the equal graphic quality shown in the first trailer.

Oh my f*ck this game looks amazing. The level of detail and the graphics look stunning, the snow looks ace as well.

 

Just hope the game has the gameplay to go with it.

It looks so awesome. I am so interested in the 40s and 50s time period that I so want to play this game. I love the 80s the best, but the 40s and 50s were the most interesting era to me. I was always so fascinated with classic films like the Naked City, It's A Wonderful Life, The Seven Year Itch, and so many great movies from those two eras in post-war history. I always got a kick out of the Sci-Fi and classroom shorts back then, thanks to MSTK 3000 with those silly late 40s-early 50s classroom shorts they use to have as well as those cornball Sci-Fi 50s flicks that flopped.

I know. I know. It is just that it seems so cool and the pedestrians finally have couples huddled together, like a husband and wife would. I was getting tired of that separate pedestrians walking by themselves or whatnot. It was good have some realism in Mafia II, considering how great the trailer looks and their hand movements looked fluid than GTA4. I know I should not be excited, but I am more so than Resident Evil 5. The pics looked terrific. Sorry for being a big blubber about this, but it just looks so cool to play.

I thought most of the supposed 'lived-down hype' was about Gameplay, and thats what everyone else was complaining about. As far as I'm concerned there was nothing lived-down about graphics
