Hey, that pic is identical to the graphics of Bioshock, knowing that one of the Czech creators already have a guy who did the dialogue of Bioshock. I guess the Czechs were very impressed by the graphics of Bioshock.

Now, I'm pretty sure you get given a car too drive, you can fill it up with gas, you can 'pimp' it out etc etc. I really can't wait for this game, sounds bloody awesome.

Yeah, I also think he meant that. But you can alter the car to some degree, just not put nitro and neon and sh*t on/in it, it was confirmed a few months ago. I think

Mafia 2 being set in the 1940s/ 1950s should have itself a good set of guns. Colt 1911s, Shotguns, WW2 spec tommy guns, magnums, etc all should be included. The original Mafia had quiet a good selection of weaponry (much better than GTA3 or San Andreas) with a much better inventory system than any sand box game I have seen since.

 

The cars will be awesome this time around. The 1940s/1950s was the time when America started building high powered RWD sedans (they used to race 'em in NASCAR- thats how fast they were!) and if you can't appriciate that than you shouldn't be playing Mafia. Compare that to many of the very slow cars featured early in the original Mafia. Initially you had a Ford Model T for christs sakes!

 

I'm hoping the lead version of this game will be PC...if they give us a console port aka GTA 4 I will be mighty pissed.

I think a game like this will be hard to play. Especially after the weapons and vehicles of the modern era. It's like going from CoD 4 to WaW. I hope weapons aren't too outdated, same goes for vehicles too.

Well guns in video games don't behave as real guns so playing with Tommy gun or m4 really makes no difference in a video game. It's all about how the developers chose to make the weapons recoil and actual gunfights. Of course you wont have laser sights and silencers, but it doesn't really matter. And if you don't like the weapons, I'm sure someone will make some weapon mods. There are weapon mods for Mafia 1

Well they won't have just removed it, they will make it so you simply don't need it. I have no idea how, but they have amazing ideas and they've been at it for 5 years so I think whatever it is, they will have done it just right . I'd prefer to have no HUD anyway, they are big and ugly and with a game as beautiful as Mafia 2, it would just spoil the graphics. So many times in IV have I just turned it off because it made the game look so much better.

This is a game that I have waited too long for, for it to be rushed, I just want them to take their time and produce a masterpiece.

I know those cars from that era, but it's kinda cool to see those cars. I am pretty sure we won't hear The Four Aces "Mr. Sandman" or Etta James "The Wallflower(Roll With Me Henry)".....but we can never tell. We just heard two 50s songs already.

The Getaway had no HUD, took a while to get used to but it was great not having a HUD, gave it a more realistic feel. By the way, what are the Autum months in the Nothern Hemisphere?

It's kind of cool we are going to focus on two eras that changed American history. The post-war decade and the baby boomer decade. Bioshock itself also has that retro post-war WWII/baby boomer feel to the creation of Rapture itself. While in reality Rapture would not have happened at all due to money cost issues and whatnot, it is interesting to notice how both the art deco designs and the culture about America really evolved out of the WWII two era.

Yeah it's cool and because it's post-war era there will be a lot smuggled weapon from the war like the MG42 in the screenshot.
