Don't understand why these simple ports were not added in, regardless of the effect it has on the overall gaming experience. Lets not forget that they delayed the release date multiple times, therefore I do not see a viable excuse. That said I will still likely pick up the game on release.

 

Just a question on compatibility. I'm aware that there is no specific version of Mafia 2 for Mac, however are there any programs or if i installed a partition with windows that would allow the game to work on PC. I have a 27-inch iMac which is only a few months old, so say if i did install windows or a program, how would the game run. I haven't really tried many games on the Mac apart from Heroes of Newerth which runs really smoothly, but Mafia 2 would definitely require more.

 

The reason i ask is because the PC experience seems a step above the others, as well as all the mods and other additions. I've never really been a PC player apart from strategy games, however that is mainly due to sh*t computers...but since i got the Mac, maybe i can run some higher spec games.

Can't wait until the game is released! Any answers would be appreciated.

Just notice some things on the game artificial intelligence engine.

After making 4 stars wanted level and running wild on the streets with my car wrecked very bad, I've made up to a collision with another car seding me on the left side of the sidewalk of my screen ( to be understood it ) with my engine dead. The police being just some meters away from me and I finding my self in a difficult street where didn't have much where to go, I just cover my self on my dead car and the police just past me, without seeing me cuz of my cover when my hole wanted stars just have gone immediately in seconds. I was just amazed how the police artificial intelegence is running on this game. Or you can just cover your self with your car in a hiden location or a dead end and they will not know you, that your are there. Not like comparing with GTa Series where like every single cop knows where you are, like the game himself is watching you every step.

On this Mafia, if you are hidden even behind some wall and a police car is going past you, everything is turning into your advantage.

 

Another encounter I've seen; again being chased by cops because of car-jacked and after a while I have lost them for a moment. I've walk to the clothes shop to buy something. After getting out from the shop, suddenly a police car was near me but they didn't recognized me at all. The funny part was, after I enter in the stolen car, 2 stars have appeared on me like they knew it was that stolen car and I was the one who have stolen. Very very interesting

 

Another observation I've seen is that is not necessary to smash the window on some car when you just need to shoot 2 shotgun bullets to the door handle and it will open by her self. Enter and drive. Amazing!

 

Such things you don't see everyday on some game. If the demo can give such thing, I just don't know what the entire game will give as a suprise. This game is terrific!

Actually in GTA IV you could hide from the cops in a similar way that you explained. I'm not exactly sure if you can hide behind a car, but if you find an alleyway, break their line of site, and get behind a dumpster they will not know where you are. They'll look for you though, and there's no getting away when they're swarming an area.

 

As far as gameplay goes, the shooting mechanics feel a little iffy right now. Not as precise as other games out there. I'll probably wait on buying it.

First off anyone remember this little jem?

 

 

 

All I ask of the game is to have a compelling story at least as good as Mafia 1 was,

which was one I couldn't put down from start to finish. Needless to say that was a stint where my sleep cycle was messed with, but for a good reason.

Also for all my complaining about the driving physics/control I think I have it down more or less,

it just needed the proper TLC into getting proficient at it.

Played the demo. The atmosphere is great, the graphics decent, but the gameplay's just crappy. Been kind of excited for this before, but I don't think I'm getting it now.

First of all it's a demo. It's only one small part of the gameplay features.

And second, what exactly is it that you don't like about gameplay?

Anybody notice the demo has been updated and the steam updated my game where now Get All The Weapons Trainer and time limiter aren't working anymore. They blocked all the tools cuz maybe they have seen this things on youtube and on their official forum. Possible!

If I enable the All The Weapons Trainer, my game crashes. Even after I've download them again and put them in my game. They aren't working anymore.

Just played the demo. It was my first exposure to Mafia.

 

Pretty cool. I liked the shotgun. A nice shotgun always draws me into a game lol. Gonna check this out on the PC when I can.

Those little warez what your talking about, from what I've heard just now, they can't be installed because today is not 24/27. The Steam doesn't let you install it. To me, sounds perfectly normal to be in that way!

plus: if its a steam game cracking it isnt a problem what so ever. files like steam_api.dll make steam games "non-steam" its basically a steam emulator that will run to start the game from what a friend told me

EDIT: I know this isnt the place to talk about warez but ive found 1 dvd clone torrent... dunno if its legit or not but the people say theres no crack yet...oh well we still have to wait till tuesday.
