Elvis cant be in the game because he was born in 1935 and the game plays in 1945 ._.

the story is set from 1945 to 1957, Elvis's first #1 record was released in 1956, and he had many more popular singles before that.

No, seriously, if either of those things is a deal breaker for anyone, I'd be pretty f*cking shocked. I don't have a working PC capable of running it, and my 360 isn't working, so I'm stuck with the PS3 version, and I'm going to enjoy it just as much as everyone else.

No, But it doesn't look as good as the 360 version. No clothing moments what so ever. Effects are missing, everywhere. No f*cking blood , its the mafia, its brutal, i want to shoot someone and see blood. I dont give a sh*t about grass, but blood come on. They can suck it, and the are going to lose money.

 

 

Oh, and the fact that they lied and said it would be developed for each system from the ground up, but really it was a sh*tty 360 port. Ported not even by 2K themselves they got someone else to do it. I'll buy it when its half the price.

true but remember that games back then didn't have the tech we have today.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a graphics whore but I have seen developers done the things that these guys thought was "too difficult" i.e. blood puddles. I mean, they couldn't even do a simple blood puddle? Plus, what also gets me is that they said that each version was built from the ground up but now we learned that 2k had another team to port it.

 

I might eventually buy it down in a few months time after I hear the verdict from the guys who bought the ps3 version.

GTA San Andreas was released in 2004 and it had blood pools and grass. So it is really no excuse for a 2010 game not to have that especially if other versions can have both. Whoever did the PS3 version should be fired IMO. There is no excuse and I'm really sorry for PS3 users.

I'm yet to preorder this game because I'm still not sure what bonus pack I want. I bet I end up just going down to Morrisons the day it comes out and just buying the standard copy Just been reading the cast list. Apparently the guy who voices Vito played "The Croupier" in the Vegas Friends episodes. Trying to work out if it was the guy at Chandler/Monica craps table or Joey's identical hand twin...

 

Not that it matters but I thought that wa interesting Apparently he also voiced Aldo in The Godfather II game so he has a history of voicing mobsters

How f*cking exactly are pools of human blood that important to a game about crime? One would figure the only important part of a crime game would be a story revolving around the perpetration of criminal acts.

 

But sure, if blood is that important to you than go cry about it some more, somewhere else.

 

I think CC had the best point of why the PS3 version is inferior. It's allocation of VRAM is insufficient to run a game such as Mafia at higher settings so some details had to be removed for the sake of performance. Not to mention the differing APIs (Open-GL and Direct3D respectively).

It was an impulsive buy, so I dont know much. Will there be any side missions? How big is the map? Is there much to do apart from missions? I know a Google search can answer this but I have a sh*t slow computer and am getting a new one next week

I'll just have to point out here that Xbox does have a better GPU, otherwise PS3 is superior.

 

Pre-ordered the CE for PS3, couldn't care less if it has "suckier" graphics when compared to Xbox 360.

I'm pretty sure that San Andreas' grass and blood wasn't as detailed as Mafia II's

it doesnt matter which console is best, the point is that a few textures dont change the game

well if you look at it this way, if pc had no grass or blood effects for mafia 2, some guy would have just created some mods for it like in gta 4. there are already trainers out for mafia 2 within 2 days after release, some of them have already modded cars in it. 1 guy posted a pic of him in mafia 2 with a bmw 7 series 2007 car that he is working on. but unlucky for ps3 users that you cannot mod ps3.
