That is possible!I remember playing Mafia 1, it felt so good I thought it was better than any GTA.But in fact for my favourite games I place both Mafia 1 and GTA III on place I.

 

The thing I would really like at Mafia II is to have the same atmosphere or even better than the first one.

That looks very good. Anyone notice the driving and walking around looks near identical to IV? That's no bad thing though. Although the gunplay looks much better than IV's.

 

That shotgun looks f*cking brutal.

 

ed: Does Mafia II have Euphoria? Looks like it. Also look at the amount of pop-up in the driving bits. hopefully they fix it by release.

Mafia II does look pretty sweet, but also really bright to me.

Illusion/2K Czech make a lot of their own stuff, so I'd think it's their own physics engine.

Euphoria isn't a Physics Engine at all. Its an animation engine.

 

And from that video all those deaths look pre-animated so I am going to go out on a limb and say this doesn't have an animation engine

f*ck those, the Tommy gun is just f*cking awesome. I can'y wait for this gun. Now my only problem is if i should get the PC version for the graphics and the fact there is a chance that it won't run on this computer or the PS3 version for the controls and the fact that i don't have to worry about the specs.

There is a great chance that the PC version will be better optimized than GTA IV(better developer), so if your PC make minimum/recomended specs I would go for PC.

Does anybody think the game will have explosives? How about a cover system? Not a crouch-behind-something style, because that's not a cover system and it barely works well in most games like GTA SA. A cover system actually connects the player to an object or wall.

Mafia 1 was made to be realistic and also did a great job doing that. Never played The Getaway so I can't compare them, but yes realism is part of this game.

 

Yes it will have a cover system. What do you mean with explosives? Grenades, bazookas, or bombs? Well answer is Yes, unlikely, probably.

Eh, checked out the vid and the combat system looks pretty meh. Very stiff shooting animations, lack of blood, and just very tame. GTA IV has spoiled me in that regard. I hope they're still working on it.

I thought the same, I mean it's impressive for what they have, like shooting out the bricks of the glass wall and such. They still have time until Fall to get them fixed, but I would take what they have now since it seems so good.

Saw this picture of a newspaper cover in a magazine and it said in one of the subheadings "Ex-mobster Tommy Angelo gunned down". So maybe the games are gonna link somehow? That'd be kinda cool.

Car driving looked boring, very arcady. No physics. Other than that the game looks great. Really feels like the 40s/50s, much like BiA:HH made it feel like WWII, whereas I felt I was running and gunning in CoD:WaW.
