"Finish the Story 2" Sign-up Thread

It's boring following along the storyline of the game so strictly. It's just not interesting to write about.

 

Then, when people get tired of it and introduce their own ideas, they're way too unrealistic and whatnot, rendering the whole thing a little stupid.

I think I'm gonna skip Part III. If you guys were planning on having me, sorry. I will probably not be participating in this one. I may return, though.

Well, I have school and are taking AP (advanced placement a.k.a 'smart') classes which have a lot and fairly difficult homework. Also, I will not have that much access on the computer and I have other problems to deal with. I will try to particpate though...

 

Oh, and thank you by the way. I really appreciate you saying that. I really want to thank everybody here, since I can tell my writing has improved. Whether you realized it or not, you made me better, so thanks again!

Also why the hell did you keep posting after they told 07 members not to?

The rule was enforced in a flash. I never knew that it ever existed before I was warned. I am not an idiot, I don't go around breaking rules on purpose. All I knew then was some 2004 members b*tching about the 2007 ones. Lets forget about it, the pit has been removed.

 

Okay people, interest seems to be waning. Why is it? Is it because this is the 3rd time we are starting afresh? I am feeling a bit bored myself, but if we continue writing, maybe interest will pick up again. Then again I could be wrong.

I not sure a project like this could really work doing it the way its being done with everybody just contributing there own piece of work. I don't understand, please explain that. I don't think that that will be a problem. We can just have a general outline and proceed with that. Not necessarily to write according to another writer's ideas.

You make an excellent point. Although discussing the plot ahead of time would allow it to become more of a story, it would completely contradict the "game" aspect of Finish the Story. We'd just be elaborating in the III thread about what we've already said in the discussion thread.

Personally, I think I'm an ace writer. This would be just perfect to me, seeing as my time on the computer can vary and is very spontaneous. I've tried writing full stories, but it hit the fan.

 

I'm just a tad confused about when/if we're going to start III. I think I'll be a great addition, seeing as I'm ace at English.

 

I'll keep my eye on this. Am I allowed to sign up for three?

@Stefan: Well, if there is a III... but seeing as how its going to be a whole new story I don't see why you couldn't join. Could we see a sample of your writing?

 

@thread: So I was thinking about it today, and an idea came to me for III. I don't know if anyone remembers the discussion earlier in this thread about creating our own GTA world/story, but I think this would be a perfect opportunity to do just that. That way, it wouldn't just be another restart like II was, but instead something entirely new.

If we do vercetti's idea I think everything would be more exciting if in the new story all of the writers contribute a character in the planning stages.

Attempting to make some money, he moves to Conorado. No one wants to hire him, and he is losing money. He needs to resort to a life of crime in downtown Kender.

I don't know France. Although I love Colorado and the countryside in it could be amazing, I don't think it would work very well for underground crime. I don't know of any gangs there, besides small street gangs probably, and there hasn't been any connection that I know of between the mafia and Colorado. Plus, think about water. The only time we'd be able to use boats is when we find some lone lake out in the mountains.

 

So I stay with my original statement. The crime capital of Chicago.

No don’t do that. What’s wrong with this thread you can do exactly the same thing in it, and a poll inset really necessary because it would just be people interested in the third one voting. Don’t go making a sh*t load of topics because once you’re done with them they just litter the forums, and the mods wouldn’t like that.

Ditto. You did suggest this long ago, but I don't remember reading it. We were all engrossed in trying to write the GTA4 story then. Sorry for the repetition. Not that I wanted credit for this, I was merely inspired by TonyZimmzy's Heart City.

 

@All : Why don't we just build a city out of nothing, not based on any existing city in the world (Case in point.). We won't be constrained by real-life facts. We could just do it completely according to our imagination.

Stop trying to take over Finish the Story. I can do this on my own, France. Doing things like this and almost creating the FTS2 thread a few weeks ago just rushes me.

@thread: Like I stated earlier, I will create a III discussion thread which will be used for sign-up, city/plot discussion, and eventually writing discussion once III gets started. That way it doesn't sh*t up the forum with a bunch of threads.

Anyways, so I see you guys are coming up with something new. Chicago sounds good, but wasn't Liberty City a 'remake' of New York and Chicago?

 

I personally like the Carcer City idea. For one thing, I like it cause, well, I live in Ohio and Carcer was a copy of Cleveland. But it isn't my decision though...

 

EDIT: I actually like the create-a-city idea. That would prolly be the best choice. We just need an 'area' to base it off of...

 

1) countryside

2) desert

3) metropolis

4) tropical

 

...etc.

How about a huge east-coast metropolis, surrounded by suburbs, and in the distance there could be forest/plains countryside? (With the ocean on the other side of course, but out off the coast could be a chain of tropical islands.)

So GTA wise, it would be like Liberty City in Red County with a chain of islands like Vice City...

 

I was thinking something like that. Has anybody ever seen that Criminaql Russia mod? If ya go on Youtube and search it, that is what image I was thinking of...
