Dr Doidberg Posted August 7, 2007 Share Posted August 7, 2007 http://s161.photobucket.com/albums/t217/ad...nt=M2U00038.flv  he made 515whp. he still needs to turn up the boost and retune it. his 60' time was 1.77. that is considered sh*tty by him lol. he can run 10s right now but he needs to go back to the track. hopefully that happens soon. his car is street legal. he actually missed 4th gear and still ran the 11.14.  who ever said cavaliers or sunfires can't go fast? Hes barely even getting started right now. he will probably be running 9s this year if he turns up the boost. his motor can handle around 800hp from the sounds of it and spins up to 9500rpms, possibly higher im not sure. it and his turbo is big enough, its freakin huge. Dr Doidberg Posted August 7, 2007 Author Share Posted August 7, 2007 ya the torque is really low for the hp, but that thing flies. and its street legal. its one thing to make a car run 10s, and its another thing to make it runs 10s street legal and reliable. it is only a 2.2. once he turns up the boost and really starts using the potential of the turbo he will be making tons more torque. I didn't mean to offend you, but most peoples opinions on Sunfire's is that it's a chick car. And a POS, for the most part. Sure, drop in hundreds of hours of work and/or tons of cash and it'll take off like crazy. sh*t, even enough and it'll handle like a champ. But it's still a Sunfire. Same goes for the Cav. WTF is so wrong about driving a cavalier or a sunfire? its just a car. they are reliable when you don't neglect them. f*ck im getting 30-35mpg out of my cavalier right now when im not out racing it. its always reliable to me too. thats mostly street driving too. i wanna find out my highway mpg. Probably around 40mpg. im laughin. Â all the expensive ass cars are the only non-chick cars these days. its f*ckin ridiculous. people are out there making excuses not to like a car. thats pretty pathetic in my eyes. what defines a chick car? chicks drive ALL cars. a chick car is a car driven by a chick that she put a few girly things on it and i dont care what make/model it is. But why do people say an entire make/model is a chick car? It makes no f*ckin sense and its just childish remarks being made. theres people out there that will hate you for driving [insert car make/model here]. its so pathetic these days and just keeps getting worse. Somebody can't afford the insurance or the payments on a $40,000 vehicle so lets make fun of them for driving a $6000 car. yeah man thats real cool. I just think it's not a good starting point to build off of for speed. Sure it's light weight, around 2500-2700lbs if I remember right but they've got like 140hp, and 145tq. Sure that's quite a bit for the weight, most cars now a days have over 200hp but are well over 3000lbs so performance is quite similar. Â In fact, it's quite similar to my Beretta. Although I've gotten you beat on the tq and hp, the weight is about the same, but I'm got an even older chassis. I love the damn thing to death, I even plan on getting one when I'm older to fix up really nice. But I know that with out spending enough money that would equal damn near as much as a brand new car, it's not going to perform better (or even as good as some in the price range). So don't think I think you're completely stupid for it. I just wouldn't go around bragging about the car like it's the sh*t stock. Once you get over 300 even, it's hard for the tires to keep traction, let alone any decently lasting street legal ones. You'll burn through them like nothing if you keep racing and the good ones are quite expensive. And, once you get so much power up front, good luck trying to turn under full power. If I had money id buy an MR2. pure SEX. i cant wait to afford one of those. Get rid of my cav. All I want for it is 250hp. It will be enough to beat evos, 350zs, a fairly stock supra on the street. thats all that counts in my books. so many cars at tracks arent street legal. Off the line on the street is gonna suck major balls though. might as well launch in 2nd. a lot of people do this bc fwd+short 1st gears suck so much. Â One of the only FWD cars I like are the old Toronado, those things are actually pretty badass, my uncle had one, and I expected the handling to be complete sh*t, but to my surprise, it was actually pretty decent.
