Gangster OG

Hey, i usually write on the San Andreas forums, but have recently got bored of S.A and started to play Vice City again. Only recently did I notice that ViceCity Stories was so cheap and I am considering buying it (for the ps2). I am just asking, how does it compare to the original Vice City in terms of features, vehicles, map etc...

The map is almost the same in both games only some tweaks here and there. Personally i like the Airport area for stunting in VCS - but the engine makes it alot harder than in original VC.

The VCS vehicles are cooler than the one in VC i think. since you do have most of the VC cars too and some additional cars.

VCS also beats in features in my opionion - if only the handling would be as cool as in VC or GTA3 sad.gif

A big minus for VCS (atleast on psp) is the amount of bugs, the game looks like its been mixed together out of VC and SA. Sometimes you enter a car and it says the wrong name and wont move at all until you re-enter it. Also alot of collbugs and more popups ruin the usually fast gameplay

As a stunter i would say VC original is the way to go. But i think VCS offers you more fun in the storyline. But both games are cool.

If you not want to drown everytime you want to enter a boat: VCS, if you want to have the original Vice feeling get VC tounge.gif

i like vcs better, more features, easier to change clothes and you dont always drown, more vehicles and the ability to rob stores

vc had good points too, entering the dance club and a much better soundtrack, but if you got the money buy vcs

I already have Vice City, but I just wasnt sure if VCS would be a good purchase, after the failure of Liberty City Stories...it's only £10, so I guess I may as well try it.

well not a failure, but most of the reviews havn't been that positive about Liberty City Stories, I however havn't played the game so I can't say for sure. All I mean is that does VCS have good reviews?

Gamespot gave VCS a 8.6

hmm well I may as well give it a go, atleast until GTA IV comes onto the shelves. For £10 you can't go wrong. The Empire building features looks like something to check out, a never before seen feature in a GTA game. happy.gif

Vice City is better, but VCS gives it a very good run for its money.

Well worth purchasing.

If you have the cash, buy it.

It's a good game even if there's alot of glitches and a very,very,very crappy targetting system. Exemple: There's a guy in front of you that's attacking you with a gun so you press the target button and start shooting and you find yourself shooting a poor old lady 3 miles from you.(Of course I'm exagerating) But it's about like that.

It's pretty frustrating but it's a good game, if there wasn't all of these stupid stuff, it would be one of the best GTAs.

Also buy Liberty City Stories if you didn't buy it yet, it's pretty good too but a bit short. All of the GTA PSP games are short, I usually beat them in two or three days.

Failure? Well the best selling game for the PSP as of July 2007...

I am currently playing VCS for the second time, and am about half way through, and to be honest, I am not really enjoying it that much.

Vice City wins hands down!

I like VC better cuz it has a PC port and I don't like prequels very much. I wish they had made a sequel to VC. Perhaps 3 years after VC and there are a number of new features, vehicles, buildings, boats and helis. But something between VCS and VC doesn't fit.

As many of you already know, VCS has Empire Buildings, of which Vic has control over, let it be small time, or high roller, they are still there. But in VC, all those buildings have dissapeared, but why?

I know they made VC first so they weren't even thinking of empire buildings but shouln't R* had given it some thought so that the architecture history fits with that of VC...

VCS was sort of cheesy, the businesses were destroyed by you destroying the gangs stuff, but they attacked if they were about to take your business, and they were always built right as you go down the block, and come back, VC is way better it just takes longer to load.

If VC had the empire building system of VCS, and VCS was made specifically for the PS2 and not ported, both game would be much better. But on their own merits, VC is better. The graphics are crisper, loading times are manageable (although I hate when switching from Ocean Beach to the Mainland it has to load), and the story is better (although unlike most I found the VCS story fun, save for the trailer park trash that plagued the first 1/4th of the game). If R* would ever re-release VC with the stuff added in VCS (which I know they never would, but still a dream), I would pay new 360-game price for it in a heartbeat.

Huh, for those who don't know: The Great Theft Car mod has a system like Empire Building.

Vice City Stories ,duh.

Tommy Vercetti is running like a f*gget ,lol. biggrin.gif

Reasons why I don't like GTA: Vice City :

* can't swim

* boring missions

* character is dummy

* no money cheat (when needed most)

* no 8-ball shops sneaky2.gif

It's a difficult choice. At least for me it is. The original Vice City is classic and I love the storyline and the characters. Vice City Stories has more features, better graphics and some better gameplay. I don't know which to choose.

i'd go for vcs, you can swim (for a little while), it has better cars, you can have buisnesses and the fact that it's set 2 years before, like you can check out what the city was like before Ricardo Diaz became the drug kingpin, and before Tommy or Ken moved there.

I don't agree that lcs is a failure, thats my favourite one of the lot:D

Vice City Stories is better with it's graphics, features and things. But Vice City is one of the important stories in Vice City history. I still think that VCS is better, but Vice City gives a good competition with it's classiness and nice missions.
