Claude GTA3
After I play the game for a while, the game just starts lagging, but after I switch the Frame Sync ON/OFF (depends what it was set before I switch it) it stops lagging (for a while, but then,it starts lagging again). I really dunno what's going on,I downloaded a no-cd exe, because I thought my CD was dying, but no,It was worse.I removed the no cd .exe BTW,I use the Legitimate one....My VC runs without lagging, and same with SA,and they both have the same things in the Display options
Justin
GTAIII is an inefficient game. What's your RAM? Throw some system specs our way (consult the pinned posting requirements) and we'll be able to better diagnose where your system is bottlenecking. It's always an idea to free up some RAM, run a disk defragment, etc.

Heihachi_73
GTA3 isn't as smart as Vice City - it tries to display every single thing, even when there's a wall in front of you. This makes the HDD constantly think and eventually lags up. If possible, chuck GTA3 on a second drive (not the Windows one) and you'll get a bit of a speed boost. Cran.
Try and not have any other programs running while playing, either. This will free up RAM and allow your game to run faster.

grahamdodds9
I really don't know...whatever,I can live with a little lag Try putting gta3.exe in windows 98 compbality mode, right click gta3.exe in C:\Program Files\Rockstar games\GTAIII\gta3.exe, then click properties, then put compbality mode to windows 98. Also make sure you have no programs running when before you play. Edited August 8, 2007 by grahamdodds9
