importing .dff files

i am using zmodeler 1.07 to import a hydra.dff file so i can save it and open it in 3d studios and when i try to import it says seek failed on an unnamed file. also i tried importing it into 3d studios max 7 using kams tool and it says it's a non-standard dff. i have the tga files from the hydra.txd and they are in the folder with the hydra.dff. What do i do?
