Ruthless Killa
Well, to start off, I have Grand Theft Auto San Andreas on my PC. It's only about a year old, and in great condition. But I do have a couple of problems & questions. When playing San Andreas my game can lag alot when just traveling in different areas. I can lower the resolution, but even then it still ocasionly lags. I also tend to higher the resolution, because I just like a better quality when playing. I look at some of the screenshots on the forum, and they look very high detailed. Im wondering if I should buy a new computer or a new Graphics/Video Card, because I lag on other online games such as Battlefield. And should I try to update my Graphics Card? Comp Stats: Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Processor: Mobile AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3400+ 2.2Ghz Memory: 382MB Ram Direct X Version: DirectX 9.0c Device: NVIDIA Geforce 6100 EDIT: Here's an example of what quality I would pefer to have. Now this picture's owner has a Radeon 9600XT card. Im wondering if my system could handle this card, or not. I apologize if I seem picky, buy I would just like a better quality when playing. Example of type of quality I would like: Example of my graphics now: Edited August 7, 2007 by Ruthless Killa

VCHolmes
You've got a GeForce 6100, which is an integrated graphics processor unlike the Radeon 9600XT. Integrated graphics wasn't designed for gaming. Still, it wouldn't hurt to play around with the settings in the graphics menu to see how far you can go without affecting performance. I wouldn't recommend, playing at a higher resolution, since it drastically reduces frame rate. Try playing in widowed mode (Use this mod) if you feel that low resolution looks bad on full screen. Processor: Mobile AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3400+ 2.2Ghz Are you on a laptop? If not, you could get a good GPU and play with high graphics detail. Ring_of_Fire
No, I am not on a Labtop You have a Mobile Athlon 64 processor, but yet you are not on a laptop. Were you just joking? There are some good Dell XPS machines that you might want to check out: http://www.dell.com/content/products/categ...s=19&l=en&s=dhs But these XPS's are the gaming desktops which cost more money: http://www.dell.com/content/products/categ...s=19&l=en&s=dhs Edited August 7, 2007 by Ring_of_Fire

jnzooger
No, I am not on a Labtop You have a Mobile Athlon 64 processor, but yet you are not on a laptop. Were you just joking? Nothing wrong with running a mobile processor in a desktop. I have an Mobile Athlon XP in my Home Theater box. They run cooler and use less power. Plus they are unlocked meaning you can easily over/under-clock them. Also, wrap your head around this one, an Intel Core2 is basically a Pentium Mobile processor. Nvidia 8800 GTX is better than the X1600Pro i think.. Yes it is, but the OP doesn't need that much power. A GeForce 7 series would be just fine. My GTA comp has a 6 series and I run everything in the highest settings except resolution (I leave that at 1024x768).
