Sgt. Sev3n
Hi, I currently have a jet-ski installed replacing the dinghy. However, a dinghy has much different handling then a jet-ski and I was wondering which line in the handling.cfg I need to change to make it much faster and more jet-ski-like. I'm guessing this is the line for velocity, but I'm not sure.
Knowledge Novice
; (N) TransmissionData.fMaxVelocity [5.0 to 150.0] This determines your top speed. ; (O) TransmissionData.fEngineAcceleration [0.1 to 10.0] This determines your rate of acceleration. Here's the handling line for the Dinghy from VC. DINGHY 800.0 2.5 4.0 1.6 0.0 0.0 0.0 16 3.50 3.5 1.00 5 190.0 1.2 R P 0.07 0.01 0 30.0 1.0 4.5 0.2 0.12 5000 3.50 0.1 0.7 0.0 80004 0 1 Editing the 'purple' number changes your speed. The 'orange' number controls your acceleration. By the way, do you remember where you found the jet ski? Thanks in advance. Later.

Sgt. Sev3n
Well I now have the speed to nearly the perfect speed of what jet-ski is and the wake shoots up real nice too. haha however when turning the character leans so far over that if done too much makes him flip upside down underwater causing him to drown. How would i correct this issue? I'm guessing it has something to do with the turn velocity or w/e its called.
Knowledge Novice
however when turning the character leans so far over that if done too much makes him flip upside down underwater causing him to drown. How would i correct this issue? ; (F) CentreOfMass.x [-10.0 > x > 10.0]; (G) CentreOfMass.y [-10.0 > x > 10.0]; (H) CentreOfMass.z [-10.0 > x > 10.0] Take a look at the 'Center of mass' entries. You have Center of Mass x, y, z. Don't remember which is which but these control your center of gravity. For example: one changes how the vehicles weight shifts left or right when turning, another controls weight shift from from back to front (possibly do wheelies in a car?), and I believe the last one controls how far above the ground the wight of your vehicle is placed. To get a better idea you may want to compare the 'Center of mass' entries from the 'Ambulance' to that of say the 'Infernus'. The Infernus hangs the road fairly well while the ambulance tips over in a strong breeze. If you get your handling line working the way you would like it'd be cool if you'd post it here. Later Sev3n. It's as close as I can get and I have too many other things going on to keep messing around with it. Edited August 11, 2007 by Sgt. Sev3n
