Mikeol1987
I was just wondering for all you band members out there, and solo artists or just plain enthusiasts what covers you have done in your time, and what ones you hope to do. I personally love doing covers, because they are really fun. I only ever stick one or two in per every 3 months worth of gigs, as it can get too much, and your own material is better. I Have covered: Nirvana - Polly (new wave) Nirvana - Floyd The Barber The Cranberries - Zombie John Denver - Annies Song Leadbelly - Where Did You Sleep Last Night? The Animals - House Of The Rising Sun I am covering very soon: Gary Numan - Cars (my god that is gonna be fun... Its sounding really good too!! ) I may cover Take On Me by Aha too, I don't know yet. I really enjoy covering cool 80s songs, in my post punk/rock band "Slaves?" If any of you are interested, our music is located here. *MURDOC*
besides music is a matter of taste if you haven't got anything to say thats on topic dont even bother. Emphasized. "good music" is not a genre, it a personal preference. That was a pretty douchebagesque statement. A few months ago, a local band held a "punk-rock-karaoke" party, and it was a lot of fun, people just requested a certain song, and if they knew it, they would play it while whoever wanted to sing did so. I did a lot of misfits songs. I was suprised, they knew about 90% of the songs requested, and they played the pretty flawless.

I've been playing a lot of Floyd and Nick Drake on my guitar if that counts though

Bigs
A band that I'm in-and-out of has covered a lot of Black Keys tunes. As well as some Violent Femmes songs. Good stuff.
Guglielminpietro
My band currently covers: 'Yes' by Aereogramme 'Last Caress' by Misfits (we're not a punk band, we just really like the song) We're working on a cover of Biffy Clyro's 'Toys Toys Toys Choke Toys Toys Toys', and still thinking about doing 'I Love You' by the Pipettes. There were a few others we thought about doing, can't remember them now. soundcloud.com/TheDamnFineCoats
spyro_ie
Well the band I'm in are primarily a cover band, but we are just starting up so we don't have much of a back catalogue. Planning on doing the Beverley Hills Cop theme, how that will work, I do not know. A local band did a cover of the Ghostbusters theme. One word. Awesome. The Black Keys are great, a local band for me. I remember watching someone cover The Black Keys and their bassist was playing. A big "WTF" moment.
