Concerning gtaWiki

I think I brought this up last year, but will the gtaWiki be moved onto the GTANet server any time soon? It's been around for over a year, and it's been in anuj's hands all that time (not really a bad thing). Since the forum relaunch has been put on hold, maybe we can put some of our attention into moving it to GTANet, so to make it more official and whatnot.

 

Unless of course it'll completely f*ck over whats already been a bit hectic in the past year.

Personally - I'd prefer if it remains a separate entity. Less hassle for the administration here, less responsibility for the gents who put time in over there.

Plus, it's a possibility some people would want consequences here for what people submit over there e.g if somebody edited a gangs wiki people would want retribution so it's probably better to remain separate.

I liked the separation in times where GTAForums' server would die, meaning gtawiki's wouldn't. These times invariably led to far greater than usual contributions on the wiki itself, as well, as members tried to whittle away the time until GTAForums came back to life.

 

I think it's a good thing, being two separate entities. Or at least on different servers.

That doesn't make much sense at all. Just because it's on a different server doesn't mean that you're not going to get any hell if you screw around with a page there. The wiki is tied in all ways to GTAF except it's location. If you edit a page with no intention of leaving anything useful (ie screwing up one's work to say "lol boobz" or "This user is a cock sucker"), the same rules apply.

Anything that will bring more attention to GTAWiki will be a good move, there is a wealth of knowledge not currently being posted on there by many people.
