Kaneda's PowerBike v1.0 by AMA

for GTA San Andreas

 

Many anime fans may recognize this motorcycle from Katsuhiro Otomo's 80's anime cult classic Akira アキラ. In Neotokyo, Kaneda uses his powerbike against a rival bike gang known as the Clowns. Later the bike is also used in evading attacks from his telekinetic and psychopathic childhood friend Tetsuo Shima.

 

This bike was modeled from scratch in 3dstudiomax6 with movie screenshots and other poor resources. I tried my best to keep to the original blueprints, however some alterations were made based on usability and personal preferences. My modeling skills are mediocre at best, using the ancient ways of polygons instead of nurbs.

 

I've been sitting on this for a long time and it turns out someone else ( a-christ and TICK ) created one. No offense, but naturally I still favor my own version. I should have uploaded mine sooner if I wanted to maintain originality. Oh well, I snooze I lose. I shouldn't have spent so much time tweeking it.

Although I can't judge it for accuracy (Never watched it), it looks far better than the other one in my opinion, has much more detail, Great Job icon14.gif

Niiice work, the best Kaneda bike thus far! Really high quality work there well done smile.gif. Have no idea about Kaneda but the bike is awesome, instant download when I can!

Yes, I modified the handling, but I didn't make it too insanly fast. If you wanna go slamming into things you can use SA Handling Editor on "BIKE" cuz I didn't quite feel the need-for-speed as much as others may have, lol. It's available now, have fun.

Looks like it could need some detaching, especially around the rear to define some of the lines.

Im a huge fan of AKIRA and it looks good but looks like it could need some moore work, on the front pic the wheel isint attached to the body, and the stickers isint that acurate as the ones in the movie and magazine, i have them somewhere in my PC if you want em? and a texture on the whole body to make moore contrast for shaped would make this a damn fine bike.

It's around ~39,790 polys. Although, I'm not enitrely sure of that estimate.

 

Oh crap, I just realized that I lost the 3dsmax save for this model. When I reinstalled 3dsmax6 it deleted all my scenes including the one with this bike model, and I'm pretty sure Kam's script locked up the dff file so I can't modify this any more. I guess it's not a beta anymore since I can't edit it. The only way I can do anything new with this is to re-create the bike all over again using nothing but the same textures. *kicks self* Really sorry, but what you see now is what you get.

yeah i agree,GTAG has been dead ever since it went down that one week,now when you hit download it says 403 FORBIDDEN at the top,so yeah,new download place please,because quite frankly,the other version is your face in the windshield and your hands on the side of the wheel fork. confused.gif

That's bad...well,could at least someone else redo the body texture,it's...well...plain,with permission of course?

jeje holmes, this one is pretty cool, i have only seen one for VC, and.. no offence but i think it' not so worked, just need to look how the wheels looks, i like more this one, it's simply chingona

i know this is an old topic, but i just wondered: i tried to replace the freeway with this bike instead of the pcj600, as the way cj sits on the bike looks better that way. just one problem, he sits way above the bike, is it possible to make him sit down in tha saddle instead of above it? if so how

Doesn't matter what bike you replace, you can edit the animation reference into the vehicles.ide line to make CJ sit any way you like. The seating position problem can be solved by editing the .dff file, but that requires sufficient 3DS Max or zmodeler skill.

so i can change how he sits from a pcj type to a freeway type in vehicles.ide? can i lover him too? or do i have to do that in a 3d program?

you can change the way he sits in the vehicles.ide line, but not the height. I made a brief explanation of these things on this page , including the names of all seating positions

If you use all the same data lines and just replace the freeway instead, it should work just fine.
