GrandMaster Smith
So I have Clearwire internet(clearwire.com), which with the pass few days has only been connecting half the time. For example, I'll try to goto gtaf, it tells me it's unable to connect. I click the little green 'go' arrow on firefox again, it connects but it looks like the layout code is all messed up. I click the little green arrow once again and it finally works. But not always does it work first, second, third or fourth try, and it's beginning to be a pain in the ass. And sometimes it just loads at the speed of dial-up. Now I have my computer setup to wireless router which is hooked up to my 360. My 360 works perfectly on xbl. Any ideas to what could be causing it? When I goto AVG and look at the log on the firewall it says blocking stuff using a filter device? It's really getting annoying and any advice or help would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance -GMS edit: here's a little video i recorded a minute ago just to show what it's doing. it only showed the 'unable to connect page' for a couple seconds since i hit refresh and it worked. but this is jsut an idea of what's happening and maybe it can help someone findout what the problem is- http://youtube.com/watch?v=bVW9VsUFSYM Edited August 4, 2007 by GrandMaster Smith
Fozzy Fozborne
Is this just a problem with firefox, or does nothing connect? Your filter device would be AVG firewall... it's just saying that it filtered out an unauthorized request.
GrandMaster Smith
nah, it does the same in IE as in FF. and it does connect, since I'm here right now. but just half the time it'll say 'unable to connect' and i hit refresh over and over until it works.. which takes a long time sometimes. *gta star*
What's your signal status, do the lights on your Modem/Router ever flash ?
GrandMaster Smith
What's your signal status, do the lights on your Modem/Router ever flash ? Yeah, both lights for my comp and 360 are flashing on my router while being used. And on my clearwire receiver, it still has 4 bars out of 5 (meaning a good connection)
Saget
Ever tried to disable AVG Firewall, or any other firewalls you might have? |DeviantArt|Flickr|YouTube|#amf|
*gta star*
Try checking your Firewall, and allow access for Mozilla. I've done a bit of research, and connecting a new Router can cause connection problems, try connecting without it.
