Posted August 5, 2007 Share Posted August 5, 2007 get some more detail in, different patches of faded or broken off stucco on the walls, Try and get some different shades in teh bars and on the door, perhaps hinges, or some rust under some rivets to that effect, Use dithering to mike the windows look a bit grimy perhaps. For a first time thing, and what you're going for, you should reduce the size, making your work load less, and it allows you to get detail and texture in their easier. He probably means that your drawing is oblique, where as his example is isometric. That doesn't means it looks odd though, just a different style of pixel art.
