I checked before I made the topic and the only other topic about this movie was one with the trailer, from April. So I'm safe. I'm a big fan of the Bourne movies, I have seen the first two films of the series and I liked the movies very much. They're very well done and it's not just one of those movies where it's all action and no story, it has a very deep plot and it also has much entertaining action sequences. I'll be seeing this movie tonight, I have high hopes for the final installment of this series, it looks like it is going to be great. I don't normally like Matt Damon, but he does very well in these films. That's my two cents, and I'll post later after I see it. Any thoughts and opinions? Ben Posted August 4, 2007 Share Posted August 4, 2007 Yeah, I've been hanging out for this movie since seeing the second one - it seems to have taken AGES. Oh yeah, that's right - it has. Unfortunately, I don't think it opens in Australia for a few more weeks yet . Nevertheless, I'm interested to know how it finishes. The only thing I've read about it is that Bourne goes looking to find out who he used to be, which inevitably pits him against the CIA. Again. gta_player5 Posted August 4, 2007 Author Share Posted August 4, 2007 It was a great film, I really can't say how I would rate it compared to the previous two because it is that good of a movie. I would consider all three of them equal in quality. They are very well done and this one did not, and for those who have yet to see it, will not disappoint. Because some have not seen it and because other are greatly anticipating this film I won't post spoilers. Just know that if you like the series, see this movie, now. The Bourne Identity was one of the most important movies in a long time. It paved the way for Casino Royale which still WAS NOT as good as any of the Bourne movies. Matt Damon did a great job. Striker* Posted August 6, 2007 Share Posted August 6, 2007 I just saw it yesterday. Man was that a great film or what? I actually think it's better than both the first and second combined. Maybe that's going to far because those too were great as well. But this one was simply fantastic. What a great way to end the series. I don't buy DVDs very often, but I own every one of the movies so far and plan to buy this video when it comes out whether I have been able to find time to watch it before hand or not. Mister Pink Posted August 11, 2007 Share Posted August 11, 2007 The first time I seen the Bourne Identity it was in Italy in my ex's house so I had to watch it subtitled as it was dubbed in Italian. I thought it was f*cking amazing. I don't normally like Matt Damon either but he suites this role down to a tee. The action in the Bourne films are great becasue they don't rely heavily on CGI. The stunts are actually performed so they look natural, unlike that joke of a film, Die Hard 4. And who can forget the car chases? Old skool and effective. Looking forward to this film very much. Love the scene where he beats up that guy and then sstabs a pen in him, So swift and speedy. Also the one near the end when he drops down the middle of all the stairs ontop of that guy, then shoots the guy running up the stairs right in the head. Can't wait to see the 3rd, looks great. But after seeing this one, I take that back and really enjoy the film! The other two I don't like as much, however this one was pretty good. I plan to get this on DVD when it comes out. Great film! Posted September 4, 2007 Share Posted September 4, 2007 Maybe it was the fact I'd seen it in the cinema, but I thought this film was the best in the trilogy, very gripping all the time with non-stop action. I just love the way Bourne is so clever, he knows all the little tricks, wouldn't it be awesome to have the same skills as him? Minus the CIA trying to kill you, of course. It would've been good in certain spots but to use it the entire movie was a terrible decision. It was even harder to watch than The Bourne Supremacy. Also the ending was anti-climactic in comparison to the last two films, and they didn't even answer one of the biggest questions which was just what the relationship between Nikki Pearson and Bourne was. I think we can all surmise what it was but to not have it clearly pointed out seemed strange to me. Also, is it just me or would an over-arching Jackal-like villain similar to the novels have helped this series far more than a bunch of (rather lame) CIA executives one after the other? Sure the assassins they had were cool but none of them were a match for Bourne, each dies in the course of one battle. Anyway. It would be interesting to see the series continue but much-like the new Jason Bourne novels they would probably end up being inferior to the original trilogy. The series is great, will there be a third film.
