Listed in: PlayStation 3 Tags: Sony, SCEA, Dave Karakker A lot of people were disappointed by the announcement of Take Two that GTA IV will be delayed. However, SCEA PR boss Dave Karakker seems rather unfazed by this turn of events saying that "No single game makes or breaks any PlayStation platform." He gave word that it's only natural that hardware manufacturers would want to see Grand Theft Auto IV on the shelves as soon as possible. However, this is considered an important franchise by Sony, and the company had expressed its support for Take-Two to take as much time as it needs to make a great game. He further stressed the point that no single game makes or breaks any PS platform, and that they don't rely on one hit game. He said that "We [sony] prefer to offer consumers a wide choice in software, appealing to a broader audience beyond just the hardcore gamer." Karraker made some good points that can be said about most consoles today. Players who have been waiting to get their hands on GTA IV may have to wait a little bit more, but it'll be worth it if Take Two releases a well polished game. GTA IV will be the best selling title the ps3 has seen as of yet probably of all time. It would be stupid for sony to say they dont have a sh*t load banking on GTA, it will probably be the main reason people end up buying ps3's. lol anyone know this its interesting. The PS3 is all about "staring at the luxurious hardware". There isn`t one game in the PS3 lineup that would justify spending 600$ for the console. If it had Rumble , the PS3 would be a great console , great hardware. But without games it`s pointless. BTW , the real problem isn`t the PS3 , the real problem is Sony itself. Duhhh. Lets hope it doesn`t look too dated once Crysis is out. Sony should be eternally thankful for MGS4 and GT5. Those are two reasons for a PS3. Whatever happened to "Eight Days" ? Or "HOME" with those dumb metrosexual avatars. The cheesiest moment; Chewbacca holding a PSP. The only breather in this vast pool of dullness was a game that looked like it was made with a pencil , "echocrome". And not because i`m into dinky little thinking games ( GTA IV and RE5 are way up on my list ). But because it reflected soul and thought , and it had something special. The kind of game that you just "get" in the first few seconds you ever see it , something that just makes click... Microsoft didn`t have any big surprises but they have a solid lineup of games. If it wasn`t for the screwed up hardware i would have a 360 already. BTW , not a fanboy. PS3 good ( once with Rumble ) , Sony managers suck. Sony managers still live in a PS2 fantasy world where the consoles sell themselves. And Nintendo ? They are in their own little world. Best in Show 2007: Call of Duty 4. SA sold around 15 million. Not to mention the Sims sold more than any GTA game released so far so the Sims is the number 2 best sold game and I'm pretty sure that there's alot more games that have sold more worldwide than any GTA game released so far. But the delay dosen't really matter to me. I was going to get GTA 4, Mass Effect, Bio-Shock, Uncharted, Unreal Tournament 3 and a few oher games so I woulda had to spend time with all those games. By the time GTA 4 comes out I'll probably be bored with those games and spend my time on GTA 4 only. Not to mention this will hlep sells because people will want it more and after christmas more people will have PS3s and 360s. Plus now new features might be added and we may get more info now.
