AndyGanteks Posted August 3, 2007 Share Posted August 3, 2007 But what if 360 was actually causing problems.Its disc has lesser space then blue-ray + every preview +E3 demo was presented on a Xbox meaning Xbox is the place where everybody saw bad frame rate and stuff and sh*tted to rockstar and since they have a extra deal with microsoft,then cant delay ps3 for 2 weeks and give an uncomplete 360 version that is to get DLc too so they delayed it because of Microsoft.I know this will never get to public and we may never know the truth but tis is my theory!!!! There's a difference between a normal fan, and a fanboy. A fan is just happy over having exclusive content. Especially if he already has a 360, and has pre-ordered it. A fanboy, will constantly bring up DLC and say the PS3 version will suck, for example. Now I said the 360 version would be superior, but I have also said before in other topics, that both versions would be great anyway. So I'd consider myself to fall under the "fan" category, but I can still see the obvious truth that purchasing GTA IV on the 360 would be a wise decision. -$200 cheaper console -XBox Live > PSN, so that means better online play -Exclusive content Many trusted gaming sites and magazines would agree with me on the above points. Even R* just admitted the PS3 version of the game was trailing behind. It's more along the lines of being a realist, not a fanboy. But of course, jealous people will get butthurt over me taking pride in having a superior version of one of the most anticipated games of the decade. They'll also try to twist and distort my comments to make me appear to be a fanboy, because they can't really counter my arguments. Don't blame me because things turned out this way. It's not my fault that R* chose 360 as the lead platform for development. I think some people here are blind Sony fanboys and just can't stand that their 10+ year console reign is over, and so is their greedy GTA exclusivity contract. I constantly find these analysts contradicting each other which means their opinion isn't exactly special and most don't make accurate analysis. But, if we were to look at the evidence we have, that being that the PS3 version was behind in development, then you could easily come to this conclusion and I feel that this analyst may be correct. deathdealer Posted August 3, 2007 Share Posted August 3, 2007 it's true that the ps3 version was falling behind but only because rockstar had the 360 tech before the ps3 tech, Rockstar said so themselves. The analyst might be right about the ps3 holding up gta4 with the fact that the ps3 was a couple of weeks behind. I'm not a fanboy, I don't even own either console. I own a ps2 and thats it, never owned an xbox. Im still deciding which one to get. This isn't some blogger sitting in his mother's basement nibbling on cheese doodles. Speculation or not, it's still relevant. And I trust the words of an analyst more than some fruitcup posting on a message board. Also, I'd like to point out that GTA4.NET covers not only official news, but rumors and ideas as well. We just have a decent track record of being on the ball with accurate, informative content. I don't think that working for a large financial investment firm makes you correct in what you say. Tons of analysts working for large financial investment firms contradict each other and disagree in ways where they can't all be right. He might be right, but the fact that he works for a large investment firm doesn't make that any more likely. Working for a company doesn't give you all the credibility that the company has. I have a ps3 and a 360, I'd rather buy the game on the ps3 and if this delay means the game will be released on both consoles at the same time, then hey, im all for it! the 360 already has a slight advantage if gtaiv got released a fews or months earlier on the 360 then well, it'll surely help their sales and could sky rocket them to number one. Rockstar wouldnt want to do that, specially due to gta 3 and the partnership they have with sony. who cares about the fanboys anyway, i want the next gen gta to be what the Rockstar team dreamed of. I dont care who's fault it is, if they are having problems with the PS3, let them fix them, then we all can have a good experience. Well, actually I meant at launch. Halo 2 sold more copies in its first day than San Andreas did in its first week, but since Halo 2 was released almost a month after San Andreas and less people had Xboxes at the time, of course San Andreas outsold Halo 2. I can live with that. Stupid IF this WAS true, which it most certainly is NOT (PS3 is NO LONGER hard to program for if you are a responsible enough dev to get the PSEDGE), then it would just say that rockstar isnot as good as EA etc etc. Oh well. lastmanonearth Posted August 4, 2007 Share Posted August 4, 2007 I knew it must be development issues with the PS3 version because the Xbox one is running smoothly and dozens of non-R* poeple have seen it so far and say that. However I doubt it's the console's fault. It must be their Sony version development team is tossing salad or something because if any console should have a problem with a game this huge it should be the Xbox. I don't own either console but I will buy an Xbox and I think that. But as for this article it is speculation let's not forget that. Maybe there are some licencing issues and whatnot.
