On the first mission you do for Ray you have to kill Macaffrey but you don’t but still pass the mission when you blow up his car. later on you find out he survived that’s why he is in the body cast the next time you try to kill him. I agree with you there actually, but there is no real info to who the guy in the body cast is. All we know is that he is a witness, but in the mission plaster blaster Macaffrey’s name is not used. and in the mission gone fishing no name is used so this way would make sense. saintdave Posted August 7, 2007 Share Posted August 7, 2007 I thought I would consult both the official game guide and the game script to try and clear some things up regarding who is who and what missions involve who. The first mission we get from Ray, Silence The Sneak involves you torching McAffrey's place in Newport and hunting him down so he never squeals again. Ray - That scumbag McAffrey, he took more bribes than anyone. He thinks that he's gonna get an honorable discharge if he turns states evidence. He just squealed! He's under armed protection in WitSec property down in Newport, some apartment behind the car park. Torch that place, that should flush 'em out, and you'll hunt 'em down, make sure he never talks to nobody. Before this you have to fight the Colombians with Phil so it has no relevance to this and after that ramming of a vehicle to obtain the evidence incriminating Donald Love. Instead we focus on the mission Gone Fishing. In this you must kill Ray's partner out on his boat. Ray - I think my partner's a rat. We gotta shut him up, permanently. He goes fishing out of his boat near the lighthouse on Portland Rock most nights. Steal a police boat and make sure his back stabbing plans are sunk! I want him sleeping with the fishes, not eating them. Finally Plaster Blaster. Kill the witness being moved from the hospital so he can give evidence. Ray - You useless bastard. You totally messed up! My ass is on the line and you can't even kill a god damned fly. I paid you good money to kill that witness and he ain't dead. And today he's gonna make a Federal Deposition! He's being moved any second now from the Carson General Hospital up in Rockford. If he squeals, I squeal... To me in the first mission we are never told or made aware that McAffrey is or was Ray's partner, just that he betrayed Ray by becoming a witness and a government informant. The man on the boat is the first person Ray refers to as his partner who you kill with ease (in some cases). When it comes to the final mission Ray is very upset that you didn’t finish what you started which was to kill the squeal which can only mean it's McAffrey, if it had been his partner on the boat he would have used the words partner in the script sequence instead of witness and squeal. I tuck the picture from the mission "Plaster blaster" because when I tried to open the file with body cast in GTA3.img it said that it doesn't have TXD files so I tuck the picture from the mission... Had they known at the time the characters may have had a better resemblance. But in that case why wouldn't they make him resemble said McAffery in LCS? Wes. Case in point, Phil "The One Arm Bandit" Cassidy, and Victor Vance. Phil shows up 4 times in GTA. In the two Liberty games, he is a very old looking character with a missing arm. In the two Vice games, he resembles the same person but looks different from the other Vice Phil and the Liberty Phils. We all know the Vic Vance debate.
